Barcelona F1 test two day two

No prizes for guessing which tyres Verstappen is on. It's another set of those trusted C3s.
Perez is in the middle of a fixed-speed test on C5 tyres as he cruises past the pits.
Kubica's first timed lap of the afternoon is a 1m24.071s and will no doubt have held up Raikkonen, who is right in the Williams's dirty air.
Kubica, who appears to be on C3s, is just up the road from Raikkonen (who we're now more inclined to say is on the C2). Perez and Verstappen have also headed out.
Kubica is the next driver to head out, stopping at the end of the pitlane to perform a practice start.
Raikkonen's first time is a 1m19.690s. We're still deliberating over whether he's on a set of C1s or C2s.
Everyone else is yet to flinch as Raikkonen flies past our vantage point.
Raikkonen immediately takes up the offer to head back out on track in the Alfa Romeo.
First sound of engines down in the pitlane now. Just a minute until day two resumes.
Only a couple of minutes before the start of the afternoon session. Here are the driver changes we're expecting:

Mercedes: Hamilton in, Bottas out
Ferrari (once it's repaired its car): Leclerc in, Vettel out
Renault: Hulkenberg in, Ricciardo out
After the FIA published an invitation to tender last week for the supply of a common seven-speed F1 gearbox cassette as a step towards controlling costs for the 2021 to ’24 seasons, gearbox specialist Xtrac has entered the bidding process

The lunch break at Barcelona is the best opportunity for those in the media centre to get a breath of fresh air during the day, but it doesn't offer too many opportunities to speak to drivers. JACK COZENS was fortunate enough to bump into an F1 podium finisher on his ramble:

The trip to the worst burger joint in the paddock hasn't offered much joy so far this week, but one pleasant surprise was catching one-time F1 podium finisher Tiago Monteiro on the walk back.

The former Jordan and Midland driver, who was third in that US Grand Prix in 2005, is now preparing for his first full season in World Touring Cars since a scary testing crash at this venue in September 2017 that put him out of action for more than a year.

Monteiro didn't have long to stop and speak, but offered a strong handshake - far less limp than the soggy lettuce that spoiled today's greasy lunchtime offering.
Red Bull gave us a first look at some of the performance it has been hiding under its tightly packaged bodywork so far in testing with its running on Monday. This video explains how the team has finally started to show its hand

I was stood above the box as Bottas and Mercedes simulated a live pitstop. Mechanics peered into the wheel rim after a serious delay changing the left rear.
Bottas ended his morning with a pistop, which BEN ANDERSON observed.
And he goes eighth. He uses the softer C4 tyre to register a 1m19.367s.
Raikkonen's stint had him lapping fairly close to his best time, but he's returned to the pits too.
But then Verstappen comes into the pits and is wheeled into the garage.
Kvyat is out as well, which will help make the track that much busier.
Verstappen has completed more laps than anyone else with 68 and is back out to add to his tally.
Bottas does the classic in-and-out routine. He's one of five drivers on track, alongside Sainz, Raikkonen, Grosjean and Ricciardo.
Ricciardo's pace is dipping a little more now and he is now lapping in the 1m23s range.
Leading man Sainz goes for a practice start and then heads off onto the track.
Ricciardo's had his fill of green - we won't make the obvious Hulk/Hulkenberg joke - and settles into a 1m22.876 lap.
