Verstappen out of the garage on mediums.
A 1m20.747s for Vettel on the soft tyres. Second fastest of the day so far.
Twitter
Vandoorne brings the McLaren in after nine productive laps. Magnussen heads out again in the Haas, on soft tyres.
Gasly and Bottas pit, so it's just Vandoorne and Vettel out there now. Vandoorne has posted another fastest lap - 1m19.494s.
Vandoorne's next lap is a 1m26.212s, and he goes by slowly enough on the main straight for us to confirm the sidewalls are pink rather than purple!
Twitter
Stopwatch
1m19.882s for Vandoorne. Nobody else has set a time that warrants mentioning yet.
Vandoorne has popped in a 1m20.647s on the hypersoft, then followed it with a 1m22.981s - that latter lap was purple in the first two sectors but it looks as if he might have dropped it in the third.
Twitter
Gasly has done an install lap in the Toro Rosso, rolled through the pitlane and is now doing a practice start at the pit exit.
Looks to us that Vandoorne is on the hypersoft.
Stopwatch
Take a photo of the timing screens, McLaren! Vandoorne purple in all sectors and sets the fastest lap of the day. 1m22.416s. Not long for the top...
Kubica back in, and, yes, he was on inters.
Twitter
Verstappen back in, Bottas and Hulkenberg out.
Unless our eyes deceive us, Kubica is on green-striped intermediate tyres.
In a fresh burst of activity, a gathering of camera operators around the Williams garage heralds the appearance of Kubica. Verstappen also going out.
Hulkenberg straight back in without setting a time. There were aero rakes strung over the back of the Renault, so perhaps that was an evaluation run of the new front wing.
Twitter
So that's four laps on the board for Force India, three for Mercedes and Haas, two for Sauber and Ferrari, one for McLaren. Hulkenberg now out essaying Renault's first of the day.
Silence falls once more. Only five cars have done more than one lap and set a time, none of them representative yet.
Information
For those of you who weren't with us yesterday, the unmarked mediums are made in a different factory and are being evaluated for QC and consistency reasons.
Stopwatch
Perez returns having completed four timed laps, but it's early days yet. Fastest time on the board is a 1m56.167s set by Bottas. The Haas is back in the pits and looks to be on the unmarked Pirelli mediums.
Twitter
The Haas has passed by at rather less than maximum speed; looks to be an aero correlation run.
Only Williams, Toro Rosso, Red Bull, and Renault yet to run. Perez has gone back out, as has Magnussen.
Everyone now back in after completing their installation laps. We note that the McLaren is garlanded with high-viz paint as it passes beneath our noses. Perez has been out as well.
Magnussen and Vandoorne now out on track. Both these drivers need to accumulate mileage today as their teams play catch-up.
Twitter
Williams now confirm that Kubica will be in the car this morning.
So it would appear that the information we've been handed regarding the driver line-up is twaddle. Our apologies. *theatrically rips up worthless piece of paper*
Bottas and Ericsson are the first up the pitlane, followed by Vettel.
Green flag
Green flag, session begins.
Some changes to the previously announced driver order today. Raikkonen will run all day instead of Vettel, and Stroll will drive the Williams this morning instead of Robert Kubica. Controversial!
Plumes of smoke down the pitlane, accompanied by the revving of an engine below us, indicate that a Ferrari has fired up.
For those of you who love a podcast, stay tuned. The legendary EDD STRAW is editing one right now, wherein we encapsulate the lessons from the first two days of testing.
As an addendum to our weather note, the principal reason for conditions being chillier today is the greater cloud cover - it's nowhere near as sunny as its has been for the past two days, and the sun has been the big driver of temperatures through the day.
Renault has passed us a note to say its new front wing has arrived and will be evaluated on the RS18 at some point this morning, not necessarily first thing. As planned, Hulkenberg will be in the car this morning and Sainz will take over in the afternoon.
It's a chilly morning here. Air temperature is just about 6C, track temperature 14.4C. Coldest morning of the second test so far, but hopefully that doesn't deter people from running early.
