Gasly's latest is 1m25.505s, so less consistent than Leclerc or Bottas.
Speaking of which, Leclerc goes around in 1m23.230s.

Leclerc is starting to reach Bottas levels of consistency now, his latest is a 1m23.350s.
Gasly's gone slightly quicker if still not consistent with a 1m24.098s, but his last lap was held up slightly by the Racing Point.

One hour gone, and Bottas is already up to 37 laps.

He might have crashed out of the lead in the 2018 event, but our partner Pitstop Betting is offering odds of 5/2 that Sebastian Vettel will win this year’s German Grand Prix.

Information
Mercedes and Ferrari are the easiest two to compare at the moment on these long runs as they're both on the C2s.
Leclerc seems to have found a pretty consistent level in the Ferrari, in the low-to-mid 1m23s, but Bottas has been supreme on his set. He's just completed his 17th lap on the compound and is yet to drop out of the 1m22s.

In a sea of long runs, Ricciardo has just popped up with a new personal best of 1m19.253s.
Gasly has just headed north over the 1m25s mark again on this C3 run.
Bottas finally records something other than a 1m22s, but it's not much slower. His latest lap is a 1m23.099s.
Information
We've been watching Leclerc closely over his last 10 laps and he's also managed to find a good balance of pace and consistency on the C2s.
His best time was 1m22.590s and his 'worst' was 1m23.670s, around a one second gap, meaning his average was 1m23.248s.

The first hour of the afternoon session is in the books, so let's take a look at the current lap count.

Beyond the 'big three' of Leclerc, Gasly and Bottas, we've still got Albon, Giovinazzi and Ricciardo lapping. Russell has just brought the Williams back in.
Pit stop
Bottas brings that monstrous run to an end, but only so he can swap over to a shiny new set of C2s.
That was 20 laps for Bottas. Gasly has also pitted after his 13-lap stint on the C3 and switches over to the C2s.

Stroll takes (racing) point this afternoon
Bottas might shave a bit off his personal best here.
He does indeed - he's down to a 1m20.858s with his first lap on that new set of harder C2 tyres.
Gasly's first lap on the C2s is a 1m22.752s. It's a second faster than Leclerc's latest time, which is enough to put Gasly in the Ferrari's draft down the straight.
Leclerc sets Gasly free, so our best bet is probably to compare the Mercedes and the Red Bull on this stint.
Red flag
Red flag. - someone's gone off big time exiting Turn 9.
The CCTV is a bit grainy so we'll apply a bit of caution before trying to identify which car it is.
The return of every car but the Red Bull confirms it's Gasly who's gone off big time - it looks like it's at Turn 8 rather than Turn 9 where he's crashed though. He's out of the car.

Here's CCTV footage of the damaged Red Bull
That CCTV image hints at the severity of the damage, so don't expect the session to resume any time soon.

Gasly's smashed Red Bull being recovered. Thankfully, he walked away unscathed
Information
No news yet from Red Bull but our team in the paddock have spotted Gasly walking about. He says he's OK.

Information
The accident was at Turn 9 after all, and it looks like Gasly lost it early in the corner. The bit of track that was deceiving us - running uphill into a right-hander, rather than the normal exit from Turn 9 that heads downhill towards the big breaking point - is the alternative kink going off to the left after Turn 9.
Anyway, those barrier repairs were quicker than we expected, and the session is back underway.
Nobody's in any rush to head back out right now.
As soon as we say that, Leclerc heads back out in the Ferrari.
Russell follows him out in the Williams.
Leclerc's first timed lap on this run is a 1m21.284s, as Russell heads back to the end of the pitlane on C3s. Stroll and Ricciardo also head out.
Stroll is on the C2, while Ricciardo is on the C3.
A bit of a timing screen glitch, as one part suggests his best lap is a 1m19.253s but another says his latest effort was a new personal best of 1m18.544s.
Bottas has also headed back out on the C2 tyre.
Ricciardo sets a new personal best in the first sector.
