Sainz only managed four laps before that problem and is yet to set a time.

While Alonso and Leclerc are out of action for obvious reasons, Sainz's Renault has also been absent for a while now. The team is investigating a gearbox problem.

We've seen Pirelli's new hypersoft appear plenty of times in testing, now there's news of its first confirmed grand prix appearance - though by a quirk of F1 its first appearance to be announced is likely to be its second actual appearance:

I'm watching trackside at Turn 3. Ricciardo is able to use a tighter line turning into the long right-hander. The car has an impressive front end to stay flat from that tighter angle, allowing him to carry more speed out of Turn 2.
A worse final sector, though, leaves Raikkonen a few hundredths shy of his best.
Raikkonen backed off on his last lap and is pushing hard now...Two best sectors so far.
Ocon improves again in third on a 1m19.691s. Ricciardo's down to a 1m20.358s now, in fifth.
Stopwatch
Raikkonen goes to the top with a 1m18.298s on supersoft tyres.

Playing it cool on mediums so far - Ricciardo and Red Bull into fifth now
White smoke. Hello Kimi. What an odd but familiar theme of testing.
Hamilton posts another best middle sector but the lap is a few tenths slower overall.

Ocon also makes a modest gain on that lap, but can't quite break into the 1m19s. He's third still on a 1m20.017s.
