Albon has set a personal best in the first sector of this lap, and in the second sector too. Will he improve again?
Albon has improved now, when we hypothesised earlier that someone may bolt on some C4s, we were right.

It's a 1m19.783s, which moves him ahead of the garage-bound Gasly.
This was not the ideal way for Pierre Gasly to end his, or Red Bull's, Tuesday

This was not the ideal way for Pierre Gasly to end his, or Red Bull's, Tuesday

HE'S DONE IT! Hulkenberg moves the Renault off the bottom of the order and into 10th, ahead of Stroll.

Will Stroll come out and seek revenge?
Hulkenberg fancies another crack. Clearly that 0.047s is very important to him.
Leclerc is in the pits in his Ferrari. Albon heads straight back out.
Hulkenberg was just 0.047s off Stroll's time. How valuable will that 0.047s be at the end of the season?
Hulkenberg improves his lap time on the C3s now, but he's still last and can't jump Lance Stroll in the Racing 'we're giving it its correct name' Point.
There's just under 47 minutes to go in the test. Will we see a repeat of yesterday, with teams bolting on some soft and sticky C4 Pirellis for a last gasp wonder lap?
Bottas moves up to fifth with a surprise improvement on his lap.

It's a 1m19.616s, comfortably the best time by Mercedes in the test so far.
Giovinazzi pulls a sweet overtake on Leclerc, assisted by DRS, into Turn 1. Oh wait. Must remember this isn't a race.
There's been no sign of Pietro Fittipaldi for Haas as of yet. The team confirmed he would take over for any more running today due to a seat issue for Magnussen.
Bottas has joined, he's on the C3 tyre.

Handy tip for tyres: The higher the number, the softer the tyre.
Giovinazzi was just over a second slower than his best time last lap around, while Stroll got within just over three tenths on his last effort.
On track, Giovinazzi has emerged on C2s, as has the Racing Point of Stroll. Leclerc is on the C3 tyre.
The Red Bull has been delivered back to the pits now, but it's still being removed from the flatbed.

There's an hour left in the session. We're back green.
And here's the number of laps completed by each driver so far today:

Leclerc - 133
Albon - 117
Norris - 94
Gasly - 92
Giovinazzi - 76
Hamilton - 74
Hulkenberg - 72
Stroll - 66
Magnussen - 59
Ricciardo - 28
You never want to see your car crashed in testing, but how you react depends on the circumstances. Obviously, you want the driver to be pushing on and experimenting but I’d say that was a bit of a silly off for Gasly. Then again, it depends what he was trying to do. If it was a quick lap, and he had just set his best middle sector, that’s one thing and could make it more acceptable but you don’t expect that from a driver on their first day in the car.

Should you come down on him for it? No. He has to learn. So you perhaps quietly curse, then when he gets back find out what happened and check in case something other than the driver caused it. Then quietly have a word to tell him to keep things calm and keep going round.

It doesn’t look like the damage is too bad, but it’s a new car so you never know what the spares situation is like.
Here's a rundown of the times from today so far:

1 Leclerc (Ferrari) 1m18.247s
2 Magnussen (Haas) 1m19.206s
3 Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) 1m19.312s
4 Norris (McLaren) 1m19.489s
5 Gasly (Red Bull) 1m19.814s
6 Ricciardo (Renault) 1m19.886s
7 Hamilton (Mercedes) 1m19.928s
8 Bottas (Mercedes) 1m19.947s
9 Albon (Toro Rosso) 1m20.046s
10 Stroll (Racing Point) 1m20.433s
11 Hulkenberg (Renault) 1m22.601s
Gasly finally has his helmet off and there's three people crowded around a laptop, presumably investigating what happened.
The Red Bull is on the back of a flatbed truck now, and will be back in the paddock shortly. If there's no damage to the tyre barrier, we should be back underway shortly.
It's an unusual place for a current Formula 1 driver to lose the rear-end of the car. Let's hope Gasly takes that helmet off and comes straight up to the Autosport Live desk to give us the blow-by-blow and data for the incident.
Gasly's over by some laptops now. He's still not taken his helmet off after the crash.
The red flag came out with just under one hour and 15 minutes left in the session. The clock ticks down while the red flag is out.

Gasly has arrived back at the pits and had no interest in the microphone placed under his nose. There was no way the helmet was coming off there. He's disappeared into the back of the garage.
He's jumped in the service vehicle now as a sea of Spanish marshals look on at the Red Bull, presumably wondering how to get it out of the tyre barrier.
The new Red Bull driver Gasly walked over to jump into the back of a service vehicle, but walked back to inspect the crash shaking his head.
Gasly is up and out of the car now, he looks disconsolate.

The rear of the car has hit the wall. It doesn't look too damaged, but you never know how much damage has been done underneath.

It looks like it may take a while to get the car out.
The Red Bull driver had set a personal best middle sector, but lost the car turning into Turn 12, spun and hit the wall on the outside.

Gasly is sat in the car, shaking his head. The red flag is out.
Bottas has pitted his Mercedes, and the engine is switched off. He's notched up 57 laps after taking the car from Hamilton this morning.
Giovinazzi is back out, his current time puts him third in the order.
Leclerc has answered our call. Come and set the timing screens alight, my friend.

In English, that means he's back on track and we're hoping he's going to go quickly.
Albon is counting up the laps in his first session proper. It's a far cry from his spin right at the start of his day. He (117) and Leclerc (131) are the only drivers who have netted over 100 laps.
Leclerc hasn't answered our call to take the track back, so it's Albon, Hulkenberg and Bottas, all on C3 tyres.
Hulkenberg taking the afternoon for Renault has comprised of long runs. But his last lap was 0.020s slower than his best, which is a 1m22.601s.
