Hamilton puts in a new fastest race lap of 1m07.571s. He's 21s behind Vettel and 29s off the lead with 16 laps to go.
"I'll tell about it later, but we've got some issues at the rear of the car," said Ricciardo's engineer as he parked. "Sorry about that, mate."
Ricciardo's retirement means both Toro Rosso cars are into the top 10 - but you'd expect Hartley to drop down the order when he pits.
Lead order: 1 Verstappen; 2 Raikkonen +5.4s; 3 Vettel +7.1s; 4 Hamilton +29.4s
Ricciardo told Red Bull he was "losing gear sync" and then slowed and pulled off to park on the grass. Back up to fourth for Hamilton.
There's also a touch of smoke from the back of Ricciardo's car. It seems to have cleared but that did look a bit worrying.
Worth pointing out again in light of Hamilton's complaints about tyres - Hartley is still yet to pit! He's done over 50 laps on his supersofts.
Ricciardo sweeps past the pit exit as Hamilton rejoins, so the Mercedes is down to fifth - though Hamilton does have a brand new set of supersofts to play with now.
Ricciardo will almost certainly take fourth from Hamilton here.
"I don't know what to say to you guys, these rears are not going to ****ing last." says Hamilton.
Hamilton, meanwhile, has fallen 2.4s away from Vettel in fourth.
Another personal best from Raikkonen, though, and he takes 0.6s out of Verstappen's lead - which is now 6s with 20 laps left.
Alonso sets a personal best second sector in his pursuit of Leclerc for P12.
"Everyone is nursing to the end here, a lot of people are concerned," Red Bull tells Verstappen. "OK, well I'm feeling good!" our race leader replies.
Raikkonen hears us talking about team orders and does his best lap yet, narrowing Verstappen's lead to 6.6s and inching 1.8s clear of Vettel.
"The rear tyres are delaminating more," Hamilton tells Mercedes.
Vettel has now closed to witihn 1.5s of Raikkonen and is regularly lapping a touch quicker. Team orders time soon...?
So now Hartley is the only driver yet to pit - he's done 46 laps on one set of supersofts.
Leaders: 1 Verstappen; 2 Raikkonen +7.0s; 3 Vettel +8.6s; 4 Hamilton +9.5s; 5 Ricciardo +28.6s
Ericsson pits for the first time - he rejoins in P14 on the supersoft tyres.
But Ricciardo immediately beats Hamilton's fastest lap with a 1m07.591s, three and a half tenths quicker.
Hamilton, and his tyre blister, do a new fastest lap of 1m07.923s, bringing him back to within 0.6s of Vettel.
Ricciardo's now going for it with several new fastest sector times. But the margins are small, he's only trimming a few tenths at a time from the cars ahead.
"He's got no blistering," Hamilton says, surely referring to Vettel. "I've got to stay on it now."
A slow-ish lap from leader Verstappen means Raikkonen is now within 6.5s of him with 26 laps to go.
"We need a bit of lift for tyres," Ferrari tells Raikkonen.
So Ericsson and Hartley are still yet to pit - they're now running in 10th and 12th.
Vandoorne pits again from his lonely last place, he's back out on new soft tyres.
Hamilton has now closed back in on Vettel after a slow lap from the Ferrari.
"They might get blisters, it's not all over yet," Red Bull tells Ricciardo, and urges him to take care of his tyres to attack later.
Though he now has supersoft tyres, albeit used ones, Ricciardo isn't making any headway back towards the leaders, lapping at the same pace as all those ahead rather than any quicker.
This is actually becoming a pretty good race - which it really didn't look like it would be as the Mercedes one-two formation stormed away in the early laps.
