42 min: Vergne is also out there for a run, as the level of intensity begins to pick up a little.
42 min: Pic, van der Garde and Grosjean are now out for some initial laps.
41 min: Hamilton is next out onto the circuit in the Mercedes.
41 min: Better this time around for Perez, setting the new pace at a 1m38.830s.
41 min: Slightly more activity on track now, as Ricciardo heads out for a run in the Toro Rosso.
39 min: Perez takes over at the top of the early times in 1m39.653s, with team-mate Button now on track as well.
38 min: Meanwhile, Chilton is making progress with the early benchmark - now a 1m41.845s.
36 min: Perez is next to take to the track for further evaluation of the McLaren, with engineers hoping the smooth surface here helps find a set-up.
34 min: Chilton sets the first time of the day at a 1m42.513s on hard tyres.
34 min: Still no other takers at this stage, with the field quite happy to watch the Briton's progress.
33 min: Meanwhile, Chilton is out and begins a timed lap in his Marussia.
32 min: Spanners out at Lotus as the mechanics work on a KERS sensor issue with Raikkonen's car by replacing the batteries.
30 min: Outfits still in no hurry to send the drivers on track, with an hour remaining to work with the set of hard rubber they prefer to use.
26 min: Mark Webber is keeping his eye on the timing and track data in the Red Bull garage, as the drivers continue to wait and watch.
24 min: Interest in the McLaren garage on the results of its flow-vis paint tests, with the team working hard to understand the car's set-up window.
22 min: A spot of constant-speed areo testing for the Frenchman and Bianchi heads back to the pitlane.
20 min: The silence is broken as Bianchi heads out for Marussia.
20 min: Changes also being discussed down at Toro Rosso, around Jean-Eric Vergne's car. Team boss Franz Tost is down there giving the benefit of his opinion.
18 min: Sauber has built up a new car for Hulkenberg for this race and revised its procedures to avoid a repeat of the fuel cell vacuum that sidelined him last weekend:

17 min: While Rosberg takes a leisurely look at the timing monitor, his Mercedes team-mate Hamilton looks a lot more intent, as the engineers discuss some changes around the front end of his car.
15 min: Hulkenberg, who missed out on racing in Australia after a fuel system drama, returns to the Sauber pit following another check lap.
13 min: This could be something of a lull, with teams not keen to use the up the set of hard tyres until a little rubber goes down on the hot track.
13 min: Adrian Sutil takes up residence on the tool chest at the back of the Force India garage, as Hulkenberg heads out for another run.
12 min: Webber brings the RB9 in after one installation lap. He works through a clutch bite point find on his way to the speed limit line.
11 min: As with the others, it is hard tyres for the Australian as he slowly makes his way round the 5.543km Sepang circuit.
9 min: Webber is the last driver to head out for an installation run. He stops at the pitlane exit and practices a launch on his way to Turn 1.
9 min: The Briton pits, leaving the circuit empty for the time being.
8 min: Bianchi, who had a strong debut for Marussia last weekend, is one of the last to complete an installation effort.
7 min: Vettel remains in the car as Hamilton works through a constant speed aero test on the circuit.
7 min: Rosberg is also on track in the other Mercedes, along with Paul di Resta.
6 min: Hamilton trundles through the pits and back out onto the track for a second tour. Meantime, Vettel pits.
6 min: Perez is on track, conducting slow-speed tests with flow-vis paint at the rear of his McLaren.
5 min: Vettel has also elected to work through two laps for his installation run, as Bottas pits.
5 min: Alonso wraps up his installation effort and heads back to the attention of the Ferrari mechanics.
4 min: Bottas continued round and is heading towards the end of a second tour.
3 min: Alonso and Button join the pack making early checks of the reassembled cars.
3 min: The Toro Rosso duo are back into the pits at the completion of one installation lap. Maldonado, Vettel, Sutil and Hamilton are all on track.
2 min: Hard tyres all round for these installation laps as the orange marking, said to be easier to spot on TV, makes its debut.
1 min: Raikkonen heads out of the pitlane for his first lap since taking victory in Australia last weekend.
1 min: Valtteri Bottas heads out to check over the condition of his Williams.
