Weather conditions have remained dry and largely fine this morning, following last night's thunderstorm.

Morning sunshine has been replaced by overcast and cloudy conditions and there is a slim chance of rain in the latter stages of the race. Showers and storms are building across the Pyrenees, but the nearest of these is still some distance to the north-west of the circuit

An overcast but dry race is still the most likely scenario, with a light southerly breeze and air temperature up to 23 degrees Celsius.
Here's how the points race looks after the initial flyaway events: World Championship standings, round 4: Drivers: Constructors: 1. Vettel 53 1. Red Bull-Renault 101 2. Hamilton 49 2. McLaren-Mercedes 92 3. Webber 48 3. Lotus-Renault 57 4. Button 43 4. Ferrari 45 5. Alonso 43 5. Mercedes 37 6. Rosberg 35 6. Sauber-Ferrari 31 7. Raikkonen 34 7. Williams-Renault 18 8. Grosjean 23 8. Hello everyone and welcome to AUTOSPORT Live for coverage and updates from round five of the FIA Formula 1 world championship - the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya, near Barcelona.

Lewis Hamilton claimed what he thought was McLaren's 150th pole position in qualifying yesterday, but having stopped on track without sufficient fuel in the car to make it back to scrutineering, he was sensationally stripped of the best starting slot several hours later, handing pole to Williams driver Pastor Maldonado.

So the Venezuelan will line up at the head of today's field, with home hero Fernando Alonso alongside him and ready to pounce. Lotus drivers Romain Grosjean and Kimi Raikkonen line up on the second row and have demonstrated great race pace this weekend, while Sergio Perez is fifth for Sauber and Nico Rosberg is sixth.

A terrible day for some of the sport's leading lights - Vettel is seventh ahead of Schumacher in eighth spot, while Button is 10th, Webber is 11th, Massa way down in 16th. The unfortunate Hamilton starts from the back of the grid after another operational blunder from McLaren.
