Lap 28: Big shout from Mercedes there, with Rosberg set to be rapid on fresh rubber.
Lap 27: Rosberg resumes in sixth, making great use of the gap being built by the slowing Raikkonen.
Lap 27: Hulkenberg, Senna, di Resta and Ricciardo have caught up to the back of the Raikkonen train - now six cars al nose-to-tail.
Lap 26: Raikkonen looks to be struggling for grip now with his pace down in the 1m22s bracket. Schumacher is trying everything to get past.
Lap 26: Vergne in 18th position sets the fastest lap of the race so far - 1m19.013s.
Lap 26: Lead strategists will be happy to see the field spread growing, with a 20 second stop in the pitlane now set to feed drivers out around 10th
Lap 25: Hulkenberg and Senna are catching up to the group in front and if anything, it is Raikkonen that is beginning to form a queue.
Lap 25: Button is told over the team radio that the drivers in front of him on supersoft tyres are beginning to struggle.
Lap 24: Webber has pushed his lead out to 2.5 seconds over Rosberg, with Mercedes having recently considered a stop for the second-place man.
Lap 24: Perez - now free of Glock - is beginning to close down on 14th placed Button rather quickly. He will be on the McLaren by the end of this lap.
Lap 24: Schumacher is looking racy at the moment, pushing Raikkonen around in seventh and eighth. The German isn't able to make DRS work though.
Lap 23: You have to go back to 1982 and the late-race sprinkle that caused carnage to find the last time mid-race rain occured at Monaco.
Lap 23: Rain this year would be different to 1996, 1997 or the 2008 race, as they all started on a damp or wet track.
Lap 23: Pace remains good at the moment, with the top five men all in the 1m19s bracket on well-worn supersofts.
Lap 22: Drivers on supersofts would normally be looking to change rubber at this point, but teams are clearly holding out for any change in weather.
Lap 22: It is getting much darker over the circuit now and rain isn't too far off, as showers continue to head towards the principality.
Lap 21: Senna posts his best lap so far in 10th position, but he remains around 1.7s behind Hulkenberg. Di Resta is a further 2.2s back in 11th.
Lap 21: Alonso is definitely the fastest man out there at the moment, with the Ferrari man clearly getting good grip from his Pirellis right now.
Lap 20: Button in 14th place is beginning to close back up to Heikki Kovalainen once again.
Lap 19: Perez makes it past Glock and takes over 15th place. He made the move at the chicane and Glock defended by cutting the corner. The German ultimately had to concede track position subsequently.
Lap 19: Alonso continues his push after perhaps taking it easy on his rubber in the early stages. He clocks a new fastest lap to close on Hamilton.
Lap 18: Vergne also comes into the pits from 18th place. He takes on a set of yellow soft tyres and rejoins at the back of the field.
Lap 18: A sudden turn of pace from Alonso as he sets the fastest lap at 1m19.348s, now 7.5 seconds behind leader Webber.
Lap 17: Problems for the Russian and it looks to be all over for the Caterham driver as he is wheeled into the garage.
Lap 17: Karthikeyan has a moment all on his own at the Loews hairpin but he is able to continue in 19th, as Petrov pits again.
Lap 16: Behind the top eight, Hulkenberg is holding on well in ninth position and Senna is now 1.3s back in 10th. Di Resta remains in 11th.
Lap 16: Alonso is now almost eight seconds off the lead with a queue of cars, headed by team-mate Massa, forming up behind the Ferrari.
Lap 16: Vergne let the Mexican go and up into 16th place. Immmediately, Perez sets the fastest lap of the race so far.
Lap 16: Webber leads by two seconds now as he completes a good lap, with Rosberg a similar margin ahead of third-place man Hamilton.
Lap 15: Button is losing ground to Kovalainen and continues in 14th, meantime, Toro Rosso got on the radio and instructed Vergne to cede position to Perez after that recent move at the chicane.
Lap 14: That chance of rain will also mean the strategists will want to leave drivers out as long as possible for an opportunistic switch of tyres.
Lap 14: Showers are expected in around 20 minutes time. Raikkonen is warned on the team radio as he chases Vettel.
Lap 14: Leading teams not keen to pit just yet, with an early stop likely to feed drivers out in the developing gap behind Button in 14th.
Lap 13: The Toro Rosso driver holds onto 17th place for now, but the stewards may look at his defence during that move.
Lap 12: Perez tries a brave move on Vergne at the chicane for 17th place. Vergne takes avoiding action by cutting the chicane.
Lap 12: @Marussia_F1Team seems happy with their men so far: "All good so far. Timo and Charles have started on the Red Supersoft tyre and kept their noses clean in that chaos"
Lap 12: Alonso is one of the slower men in the top 10 at the moment, dropping 5.2 seconds off the lead, with Massa still right on his gearbox.
