Lap 8: Hulkenberg is struggling to keep with the lead pace and is now five seconds behind Raikkonen in seventh. He's got Grosjean and Perez behind.
Lap 8: Kobayashi comes in and serves his drive-through penalty.
Lap 8: Maldonado made an error on the last lap and has been passed by Vergne and Ricciardo.
Lap 7: Kobayashi has been handed a drive-through penalty for causing that collision with Button on the opening lap.
Lap 7: DRS has been disabled as that Mercedes continues to protrude from the barriers.
Lap 7: Yellow flags are still in place on the approach to Turn 3, with no further effort to remove Rosberg's car by the marshals.
Lap 6: Ricciardo tells his race engineer on the radio that he is losing time. The message is acknowledged - doesn't mean to say Toro Rosso will do anything about it.
Lap 6: Hamilton in fact has Massa on his case and Raikkonen is still with that pair.
Lap 6: Replays of Vergne (14th) running wide, but team-mate Ricciardo is unable to take advantage and the positions remain as they are.
Lap 6: Alonso, third, is now a couple of seconds behind the Red Bull pair, with Hamilton hardly troubling the back of the Ferrari.
Lap 5: De la Rosa has passed team-mate Karthikeyan and the Spaniard takes over 19th position.
Lap 4: Replays of the start show that Perez had already touched Button in Turn 1 and lost part of the Sauber's front wing, before Kobayashi then came down to Turn 3 with way too much speed, hitting the McLaren twice and sending the Briton into an instant retirement.
Lap 4: Vettel isn't shaking off Webber at the moment with his team-mate under a second behind the leader.
Lap 4: Raikkonen stuck his nose past Hamilton as well before the McLaren man fought back into Turn 4.
Lap 4: Senna is 12th with Maldonado 13th, Vergne 14th, Ricciardo 15th, Kovalainen 16th, Petrov 17th, Glock 18th and Karthikeyan in 19th spot.
Lap 3: It was all bunched up in Turn 3, with Vettel and Alonso both pressing home moves over Webber and Hamilton.
Lap 3: Things beginning to calm now after an all-action first tour, with the Red Bull pair battling each other for the first three corners.
Lap 3: Behind Raikkonen it is Hulkenberg in seventh with Grosjean eighth, Perez ninth, Schumacher 10th and di Resta in 11th position.
Lap 3: Yellow flags remain in place down the long straight as the marshals do their best to retrieve Rosberg's car.
Lap 2: The DRS is now enabled as Vettel leads into lap three.
Lap 2: Kobayashi gets a new front wing and he is back out but down in 23rd position and way off the rest of the field.
Lap 2: Rosberg climbs out of his Mercedes. He is also out of the race.
Lap 2: Kobayashi pits the Sauber at the end of the first lap, after making contact with Button's McLaren.
Lap 2: So Vettel leads into the second tour from Webber, Alonso, Hamilton, Massa, Raikkonen, Hulkenberg and Grosjean.
Lap 2: Hamilton finally shook off Raikkonen at Turn 4, with Massa now past the Lotus as well.
Lap 1: Damage to the right front for Button and he is out of the race, after being assaulted by Kobayashi at Turn 3.
Lap 1: Loads of action through the first few corners as Vetel presses on in the lead he grabbed from Webber through the first corner.
Lap 1: Button has made a poor start and has dropped to the rear of the field. He may have made contact with another car.
Lap 1: Down to Turn 4 it is Vettel from Webber, Alonso with a battle on between Hamilton and Raikkonen.
Lap 1: Webber gets a poor start and Vettel nails him into the first corner and leads. Webber second with Alonso into third.
Lap 1: The five red lights go out and we are racing in Korea!
Lap 1: The final couple of rows are in position now. We are set for 55 racing laps this afternoon. Are you ready? We await the lights...
Up towards the grid now and Webber works through a couple of burn-outs. He stops and the field gets into position behind him.
