Lap 51: Liuzzi has also been into the pits and this could be the end of the day's work for Hispania. At least both cars have completed some laps today.
Lap 51: Heidfeld is closing quickly on Hamilton now, who still has poor pace on the hard rubber.
Lap 50: Massa tries to find a way back past at Turn 4 but Webber is away in fifth after a fine move on the Ferrari.
Lap 50: Webber is wheel-to-wheel with Massa through the first complex of corners and is past for now ...
Lap 50: The final point battle for 10th is getting closer and Schumacher has the gap down to just two seconds now. Di Resta is fighting hard though.
Lap 50: Button is reminded of his long stint on hard tyres, with the team urging the need to conserve rubber for the remaining six laps.
Lap 48: Massa continues to defend from Webber in the battle over sixth.
Lap 48: Petrov has consistently closed in on Kobayashi over the last few laps and the Russian takes eighth place.
Lap 48: Webber has fresher tyres than the Ferrari but it is getting increasingly hard to find second line with all the marbles around the circuit.
Lap 47: Heidfeld is fourth ahead of a developing scrap between Massa and Webber.
Lap 47: Rosberg indeed passes Alguersuari for 14th as the young Spaniard tries to get to the end, but his lap times are dropping.
Lap 47: Vettel leads by 7.5 seconds from Button, with Hamilton now in damage limitation mode to try and make the finish in third.
Lap 46: Sutil is 12th and just six seconds behind Schumacher, with Alguersuari struggling on his long stint in 14th with a fast closing Rosberg behind him in 15th.
Lap 46: Alonso resumes in seventh and will surely be furious with the outcome of that battle.
Lap 46: Alonso pits for a new front wing while Hamilton has continued for now.
Lap 46: Schumacher is closing down on di Resta at one second per lap. This is likely to be the battle for the final point if there are no more stops.
Lap 45: Hamilton's team will be worried about tyre damage but Alonso will be struggling with the derranged front wing.
Lap 45: Alonso ploughs into the back of Hamilton's car on the run down to Turn 4 and has heavy damage to his front wing!
Lap 45: D'Ambrosio retires, having kept pace with team-mate Glock for much of the race.
Lap 45: Alonso is told his DRS is not working as his battle continues against Hamilton.
Lap 44: Hamilton's pace remains poor on the hard tyre, with the Ferrari clearly quicker at this stage on the same rubber.
Lap 44: Schumacher's stop promotes di Resta into 10th place, but the German is just six seconds behind and closing in at a rate of knots.
Lap 44: The Spaniard tries all kinds of lines as Hamilton defends heavily from his former team-mate.
Lap 44: The next developing battle is Alonso rapidly closing on Hamilton.
Lap 43: Webber resumes behind an intense battle between Heidfeld, Massa and Petrov with the Ferrari just gaining a place from the Renault.
Lap 43: Webber does indeed pit on a four-stop strategy.
Lap 43: Vettel leads by 8.9s from Button, Hamilton and Alonso.
Lap 43: Mercedes pits Schumacher this time round and he rejoins out of the top 10.
Lap 42: Schumacher is beginning to struggle now with grip and he runs very wide at Turn 7. He rejoins and then has to face Kobayashi.
Lap 42: Webber will have to complete a 24-lap run to the flag if he doesn't stop again after pitting on lap 32 on a likely four-stop plan.
Lap 42: With 42 laps completed, full points will be awarded even if the race is abandoned in a storm. The threat of rain is diminishing, though.
Lap 41: So Sutil is released up to 12th position with Buemi 13th, Alguersuari 14th and Rosberg rejoins in 15th.
Lap 41: Alonso resumes behind the scrap between Hamilton and Webber.
Lap 41: Alonso is also in as well.
Lap 41: Hard tyres go on Vettel's car as he heads out for the run to the flag.
Lap 41: Sutil is going to be all over Rosberg's gearbox at the end of this lap unless he pits. Yes, Mercedes brings Rosberg in for a final stop.
Lap 40: Vettel and Alonso are likely to stop in reaction to Button's pace.
Lap 40: Button sets the fastest lap at a 1m41.388s, who is now 31.5s off Vettel - who does need to stop again.
Lap 40: Di Resta then sets his best lap of the race - 1m43.302s, while Rosberg's lap speed is dropping away massively. 1m47.088s last time round.
Lap 39: Hamilton is again gently urged by the team to save his tyres for the remaining laps.
