Lap 46: More spots of rain in the air as Button closes down Hamilton's lead.
Lap 46: Barrichello is 11th with di Resta falling to 12th following his third stop. Buemi is 13th with Sutil up to 14th.
Lap 46: Vettel is setting a quick pace at the moment, closing on Button.
Lap 46: Massa has pulled a staggering 7.6s gap on Alguersuari after just two or three laps since passing him. Petrov is ninth with Kobayashi 10th.
Lap 45: Hamilton could try to tiptoe to the end on super-softs, but that sounds like a very ambitious use of the option rubber.
Lap 45: With Button on a strong pace and possible rubber to the finish, this is going to put Hamilton behind his team-mate at the final stop.
Lap 45: Vettel is finding good pace on the soft tyres and dives past Alonso on the older rubber.
Lap 44: The radar is showing an increased threat of rain in the remaining 25 laps, as more showers begin to feed in from the north.
Lap 44: Button sets the fastest lap, closing the gap to 6.6 seconds.
Lap 44: Webber questions with some surprise the plan to run the rest of the race on the prime compound.
Lap 43: Hamilton's lead is clocked at 7.6 seconds over team-mate Button, with Alonso a further 1.8 seconds behind.
Lap 43: Massa rejoined in ninth and is all over the back of Alguersuari. He passes the Spaniard into Turn 1 and takes eighth position.
Lap 43: Hamilton and Alonso need to push now to ensure they have the gap to make a later final stop if they can't make the tyres go the distance.
Lap 43: Rosberg is now up to sixth with Massa's stop. Di Resta is seventh and Alguersuari is three seconds behind him in eighth.
Lap 43: Button resumes just ahead of Alonso.
Lap 42: Leader Button is in for his stop, splitting the McLaren strategy with a set of the prime rubber.
Lap 42: Light spots of rain continue to fall but track conditions are still good for dry tyres, with the spots having little effect.
Lap 42: The Red Bull pair will face lengthy stints on the harder rubber and this is unlikely to work out well against Alonso's aggressive strategy.
Lap 42: Vettel opts for prime compound rubber and resumes behind Alonso, who is still rapid on his softer tyres.
Lap 41: Vettel is indeed in for Red Bull service.
Lap 41: Vettel will surely be in soon for more rubber as Button continues in a temporary lead.
Lap 41: Massa takes on super-soft tyres and he rolls back into the action.
Lap 41: Massa pits from sixth place in the Ferrari.
Lap 41: Button and Vettel are now ahead of Hamilton on the road but the championship leader's tyres are now shot.
Lap 41: Super-soft rubber goes on Hamilton's McLaren and he's off for his next stint on a low-risk strategy for the leader.
Lap 40: Hamilton pits from the lead.
Lap 40: Webber resumes well behind Alonso on the road, but may be hoping he can get ahead again when the Ferrari makes a final stop.
Lap 40: Barrichello rejoined in 13th place following that stop for tyres.
Lap 40: Webber is finally in, taking prime compound rubber for a possible run to the finish.
Lap 40: Massa is sixth and now 4.3s ahead of Rosberg, with di Resta eighth, Alguersuari ninth, Buemi 10th, Petrov 11th and Kobayashi 12th.
Lap 39: Alonso's pace is a rapid 1m24s, with Red Bull surely set to lose track position with Webber after failing to react quickly.
Lap 39: Alonso sets the fastest lap as he sprints hard on his fresh rubber.
Lap 39: Barrichello then pits and drops out of that battle in the midfield, with Kobayashi now catching all of them quickly.
Lap 38: But that could cost the Red Bull man track position as Alonso is flying on his fresh rubber.
Lap 38: Alguersuari puts a move on Barrichello and takes over ninth place at Turn 1.
Lap 38: Webber ignores Alonso's aggressive strategy, continuing on to another lap.
Lap 38: Kobayashi is 1.5s quicker than Petrov on that first timed lap and will catch the Russian by the end of this lap.
Lap 38: Hamilton is told the team would like another nine laps from the current set of rubber.
Lap 37: Alonso will face a lengthy stint on the harder tyres after that move but it could be just enough to get him track position.
Lap 37: Alonso is away on his final set of super-softs. He must push now to try and get past the Red Bull.
