Lap 45: Alguersuari pits from 11th , promoting di Resta into that position for the time being.
Lap 45: Drivers must use both dry tyre compounds unless wet rubber is called into use, meaning stops for hards could come as late as the last lap.
Lap 44: Hamilton's lead is now 3.2 seconds as Alonso is relayed Hamilton's radio message by Ferrari.
Lap 44: Schumacher takes over 10th place following that stop for Perez. He is now chasing down a 3.6s gap to Petrov quickly.
Lap 44: Vettel is told his brakes are now fine, perhaps after the team adjusted the cooling at his stop.
Lap 44: Hamilton is reminded that he needs to go as long as possible on the softer tyres, thanks to the slow pace of the harder rubber.
Lap 43: Vettel struggles again under braking into the chicane, taking the escape road before resuming behind Massa again.
Lap 43: Perez rejoins after a quick stop and he falls outside the top 10.
Lap 43: Massa continues to hold off Vettel, with the runaway championship leader perhaps not wanting to risk a collision.
Lap 43: Perez pits from 10th position in the Sauber. This is his second stop.
Lap 42: Massa is away on soft rubber, resuming ahead of Vettel's Red Bull and just holding him off under braking at Turn 1.
Lap 42: Schumacher has quickly caught up to the back of Alguersuari's Toro Rosso. He lunges past the Spaniard going into Turn 1 for 11th.
Lap 42: Massa pits in reaction to Vettel's stop.
Lap 42: Vettel will have a very short run on the harder tyres at the flag, providing it doesn't rain before the finish.
Lap 42: Di Resta is 13th but has yet to stop for a second time. Maldonado is 14th with Buemi 15th and Kovalainen eight seconds behind him in 16th.
Lap 41: Vettel pits for a move to his final set of softs, resuming ahead of Sutil on the road.
Lap 41: Kobayashi drops to eighth with Petrov now ninth, Perez 10th, Alguersuari 11th and Schumacher in 12th position following his second stop.
Lap 41: Rosberg has another go and this time takes the inside for seventh place at Turn 1.
Lap 41: Hamilton and Alonso match each other on pace with laps of 1m35.213s.
Lap 40: Kobayashi has spent the last laps chasing a Mercedes. Now he is defending mightily from Rosberg, following the German's second stop.
Lap 39: Webber's pace is poor at this phase and he has fallen seven seconds behind leader Hamilton.
Lap 39: Schumacher has also come in for a second stop. He rejoins just outside the top 10.
Lap 38: Buemi has been into the pits from 15th position. He is likely to rejoin just in front of Koavalainen.
Lap 38: Hamilton's lead is up to 3.1 seconds over Alonso as the McLaren team ponder reliability issues, final stop strategy and the threat of rain.
Lap 37: Conditions are getting a little darker over the circuit now. The radar tells us that showers could return in the last 10 laps of the race.
Lap 37: Rosberg pits for his final set of soft rubber, resuming behind Kobayashi.
Lap 36: Button's retirement promotes Schumacher to eighth, with Kobayashi ninth and now Petrov into 10th, having passed Perez.
Lap 36: As McLaren work out exactly what has stopped Button's car, the team will also be concerned about that puff of smoke from leader Hamilton earlier.
Lap 36: Maldonado pits from 11th place, releasing Perez into some clear space. Petrov is on his tail.
Lap 36: It's retirement again for Button after a typically battling performance.
Lap 35: Button is touring into the pits with a hydraulics problem.
Lap 35: Replays pick up Webber's earlier mistake under braking at the chicane, which has dropped him 2.5 seconds behind second-placed Alonso.
Lap 35: Perez and Petrov are continuing to put pressure on Maldonado. Behind this trio, Alguersuari is 14th with di Resta 15th and Buemi 16th.
Lap 35: Button makes his move stick on Rosberg as the Mercedes driver runs wide at Turn 1. That puts the McLaren up to sixth.
Lap 35: Schumacher in ninth has dropped to 14.6 seconds behind Sutil. Kobayashi is still there with the Mercedes, with Maldonado 11th.
Lap 34: Hamilton clocks a rapid 1m35.117s to press home his advantage.
Lap 34: Teams will now be turning their attention to the final stop, with a tricky choice to be made on when to pit for the slower hard rubber.
Lap 34: Webber is pressuring Alonso now, allowing Hamilton to escape for the moment.
Lap 33: Hamilton sets the fastest lap as he pulls to a 1.7 second lead in his McLaren.
Lap 33: Perhaps the cooler temperatures are hurting the undercut strategy today, combined with the fact the rubber is not degrading as much here.
