Lap 23: Button is told his pace is good, with cars ahead set to have degrading tyres soon - indicating he may be on a two-stop plan.
Lap 22: Sutil is eighth but has fallen to 11 seconds behind Rosberg. Heidfeld is just 1.7s back, with Barrichello and di Resta reasonably close.
Lap 22: The crowd are delighted, cheering on Alonso as he sets off in pursuit of leader Vettel.
Lap 22: Alguersuari rejoined from his late stop still behind team-mate Buemi. They are 13th and 14th for the time being.
Lap 22: Replays show Alonso comes from a long way back, forcing his way down the inside of Webber in a perfect DRS move.
Lap 22: Schumacher is up two places to 18th. He posts his quickest lap of the race so far and is just 5.6s behind Maldonado now.
Lap 22: Alonso makes his move on DRS into Turn 12 and is clear past Webber's Red Bull and up into second.
Lap 21: Webber is warned of increasing rear brake temperature as Alonso piles on the pressure.
Lap 21: Kobayashi is another driver who lost out badly in the pitstop phase. He was 13th prior to the stops, but now runs in 15th, behind Buemi.
Lap 20: Alguersuari comes into the pits for the first time. He takes on soft tyres and rolls back out into the fight.
Lap 20: Alguersuari is the only other driver yet to come in and he runs eighth, with Sutil ninth, Heidfeld 10th and Barrichello 11th.
Lap 20: Alonso can't make it past this time but is all over the Red Bull's gearbox as they pass Liuzzi in the HRT.
Lap 20: Di Resta is climbing all over the back of Perez in a battle for 12th. Perez has yet to stop.
Lap 19: Trulli pits from 17th in the Lotus.
Lap 19: Cheered on by the crowd, Alonso is definitely the man to watch a the moment as he closes on Webber's Red Bull into the DRS zone.
Lap 19: Schumacher is now 20th after his front wing change. His next targets are Kovalainen and Maldonado.
Lap 19: Glock pits the Virgin falls towards the rear of the pack.
Lap 19: Massa is now 5.6 seconds behind Hamilton after that costly pitstop sequence, with Canada winner Button a further eight seconds adrift.
Lap 19: Heidfeld forces his way past Perez to take over 10th. Barrichello is also through and is up to 11th.
Lap 18: Alonso is the fastest of the top five at the moment and is edging closer to Webber's Red Bull.
Lap 18: Barrichello is 12th and has gained track position over di Resta in those stops.
Lap 18: Webber was catching Vettel but has been badly slowed by the HRT of Karthikeyan on the last lap.
Lap 18: Rosberg passed Alguersuari - who hasn't stopped yet. The Spaniard is now eighth with Perez yet to stop in ninth, Sutil 10th and Heidfeld 11th.
Lap 17: Vettel leads by 2.4 seconds over team-mate Webber. Alonso is third, chased by Hamilton and Massa.
Lap 17: Schumacher exited the pits first time round and immediately tagged Heidfeld at Turn 2, breaking the front wing.
Lap 17: It's a 13.6s stop for Schumacher and he rolls back out into the action.
Lap 17: Massa does have more options on strategy compared to Hamilton, with a good chance of a two-stop plan, but has lost track position.
Lap 17: The mechanics go to work and Schumacher is down and away with soft tyres.
Lap 17: Petrov pits the Renault to get rid of those medium compound tyres as Schumacher now comes in to change that front wing.
Lap 17: Massa pits this time, resuming as expected behind Hamilton's McLaren in fifth.
Lap 16: Michael Schumacher left the pits but now has a broken front wing. He amazingly passes Sutil for position.
Lap 16: Massa is yet to stop and leads for Ferrari but is likely to fall behind Hamilton at his stop.
Lap 16: Kovalainen also pits this time round. He was only a few seconds behind Perez prior to the stops.
Lap 16: Schumacher, di Resta and Buemi all come into the pits. Alguersuari stays out and moves up to seventh for the moment.
Lap 16: Hamilton sets the fastest lap of the race on his fresh tyres but is behind Alonso on the road as the Ferrari resumes.
Lap 15: Button is also in this time by as Vettel gets cleanly away.
Lap 15: Alguersuari is 10th and still all over the back of team-mate Buemi, with Rosberg 11th and Petrov yet to stop in 12th.
Lap 15: Vettel and Alonso pit.
Lap 15: But Hamilton makes the DRS work on fresh tyres and breezes by Schumacher at Turn 17.
Lap 15: Hamilton sets the fastest final sector but is now catching Schumacher's Mercedes, which could halt his progress.
