Lap 14: Ferrari will now be closely monitoring Rosberg's times to see how quick he is with the benefit of fresh rubber.
Lap 14: Webber now sets the fastest lap of the race so far - 1m43.468s. He has passed both Virgin cars and runs in 18th place.
Lap 14: Buemi then pits the Toro Rosso for a fresh set of boots.
Lap 13: Rosberg pits his Mercedes from fourth, looking to retain track position over the Ferraris with an earlier stop.
Lap 13: Perez passes Buemi for 12th place at the end of the straight into Turn 14.
Lap 13: Alguersuari is now out of the race following that pitstop disaster and Webber is 20th. He is now 2.5s behind Jerome D'Ambrosio's Virgin.
Lap 13: Di Resta is the next man to stop, releasing Kobayashi and Prtrov into the top 10.
Lap 12: Webber and Maldonado have also pitted. Webber is sinking down the field still further and is outside the top 20.
Lap 12: Rosberg is now over three seconds behind Vettel and still has both Ferraris right behind him.
Lap 12: Alguersuari rejoins the track but almost immediately his right rear wheel falls off at Turn 2. He is stuck at the side of the track with three wheels on his wagon.
Lap 11: Schumacher pits from ninth and is back underway in the Mercedes.
Lap 11: Alguersuari gives up the fight and pits the Toro Rosso for a fresh set of tyres. He rejoins well down the field.
Lap 11: Alguersuari has lost the battle to keep the rest behind him. Buemi comes through and so does Heidfeld. The Renault driver then nails Buemi for 12th.
Lap 10: It's stalemate at the top as the engineers ponder just how early to stop the leading men as their tyres begin to fade.
Lap 10: Perez comes past Barrichello for 16th and then just a few corners later he catches Webber completely unaware to grab 15th.
Lap 9: Button's lead is up to 1.5s after a quick lap, while Hamilton was a little slower than Vettel, who closes to half a second behind.
Lap 9: The pace of Alguersuari is disastrous for Heidfeld and Webber. They are stuck in this train, as Buemi attempts to pass his team-mate at Turn 14 but fails to do so.
Lap 9: Di Resta continues to hold off the advances of Sutil, Schumacher and Kobayashi in the pack ahead of that train.
Lap 8: Alguersuari is holding up a large train of cars in 12th. Buemi, Heidfeld, Webber, Barrichello and Perez are all nose-to-tail behind him.
Lap 8: Hamilton sets the fastest lap at a 1m43.928s.
Lap 8: Petrov passes Alguersuari for 11th in the braking zone entering Turn 14. The Russian is now 3.3s behind Kobayashi.
Lap 7: Hamilton is in the best strategic position of the top three and could jump his team-mate if he pits earlier and switches to fresh tyres.
Lap 7: Tonio Liuzzi has been given a drive-through penalty for jumping the start. He is currently 23rd, with only Karthikeyan behind him.
Lap 7: Perez is now falling away slightly from Barrichello. They are 16th and 17th, with Maldonado 18th, Kovalainen 19th and Trulli 20th.
Lap 7: Meanwhile, up front Button's advantage is 1.2 seconds from Hamilton. Vettel is told on the radio that his pace is good.
Lap 6: Di Resta tells his team he is struggling with the rear of his Force India.
Lap 6: Behind them, Sutil is chasing team-mate di Resta - with Schumacher and Kobayashi right behind the Force India pair.
Lap 6: Sergio Perez was alongside Barrichello as they came over the line last time round but the Williams driver was able to hold onto 16th.
Lap 5: Webber gets through, past Barrichello and up to 15th position. His next target is Nick Heidfeld's Renault.
Lap 5: Rosberg is falling away from Vettel's Red Bull and has the pair of Ferraris right on his tail.
Lap 5: Tonio Liuzzi is under investigation by the FIA stewards for a possible jump start.
Lap 5: So Kobayashi is 10th with Alguersuari 11th, Petrov 12th, Buemi 13th, Heidfeld 14th, Barrichello 15th, Webber 16th and Perez 17th.
Lap 5: Replays of the start show Vettel simply bogged down and even a working KERS could not hold back the McLaren pair.
Lap 4: Button leads by a second from Hamilton, Vettel, Rosberg, Massa, Alonso, di Resta, Sutil and Schumacher.
Lap 4: The DRS activation line was moved closer to the Turn 13 hairpin on Friday night, with the FIA looking to make it harder to use the wing.
Lap 4: Kobayashi makes a move on Alguersuari for 10th place and the Japanese makes it stick at Turn 14 with the aid of DRS.
Lap 4: The DRS is now on, with the gap clocked approaching Turn 12 and the wing becoming available much further down the long straight.
Lap 3: Webber passes Perez for 16th place on the long run down the back straight. The Red Bull driver now has Barrichello in his sights.
Lap 3: Hamilton is the fastest man around the second lap, with Vettel now 0.7s behind him just before DRS becomes available to the Red Bull man.
Lap 3: Rosberg has finally secured his fourth position from a frantic battle with the Ferrari pair over the first lap.
