Lap 18: Sutil rejoined in 14th with Maldonado 15th and Barrichello 16th. The latter pits for a fresh set of tyres.
Lap 18: Alonso is back up to speed ahead of Button on the road, with Hamilton still behind Button.
Lap 17: Behind the leaders, di Resta is now eighth with Kobayashi ninth, Buemi 10th, Perez 11th, Alguersuari 12th and Barrichello in 13th.
Lap 17: Hamilton and Alonso pit for service, resuming with the Ferrari still ahead.
Lap 17: Vettel is now being told to short shift in second and third gears.
Lap 17: Button resumes in seventh, just ahead of di Resta on the road.
Lap 16: Sutil has pitted from eighth place and rejoins well outside the top 10 for now.
Lap 16: Button pits for his first change of tyres and heads out with a second set of soft rubber.
Lap 16: Schumacher is 24 seconds behind Ricciardo and remains in last position.
Lap 15: Vettel has been told not to use full throttle in second gear in order to protect the troublesome unit.
Lap 15: The Russian is back out after a quick stop by the Renault mechanics. Kobayashi is up to 10th.
Lap 14: Vettel is warned of a gearbox problem with the leading Red Bull.
Lap 14: Petrov comes into the pits for his first stop of the afternoon.
Lap 14: That incident promotes di Resta to ninth with Petrov 10th, Kobayashi 11th, Buemi 12th and Perez 13th.
Lap 13: Senna pits but the team does not change the front wing. Tyres only and he's back out.
Lap 13: Now clear of the McLaren pair, Alonso is clocked 10 seconds behind leader Vettel in third.
Lap 13: To compound Schumacher's afternoon, he comes back out straight into the path of the leaders and has to let them through.
Lap 12: Hamilton is now right on the tail of team-mate Button.
Lap 12: Alonso got himself right with the McLaren in the DRS zone before pulling an incredible move around the outside of Button to take third
Lap 12: Schumacher gets a fresh set of tyres and is back out but last by some distance.
Lap 12: Senna certainly has light slight front wing damage, but has elected to stay out, as Schumacher comes in.
Lap 12: Sensational move from Alonso as he drags around the outside of Button down into Turn 6!
Lap 11: Race control announces that the incident is under investigation by the stewards, as Schumacher crawls back to the pits.
Lap 11: Schumacher gets an immediate left rear puncture as he moves across to claim the line, after being tagged by the Brazilian's front wing.
Lap 10: Schumacher now gets a run on Senna and he tries to make a move round the outside into Turn 1. They touch!
Lap 9: Showers continue to hover around the circuit, but Meteo France expects them to make no move towards Interlagos in the next 30 minutes.
Lap 9: Rosberg remains seventh in his Mercedes, holding off continuing pressure from Sutil in the Force India.
Lap 8: Vettel's advantage is clocked at 3.2 seconds over Webber, Button, Alonso, Hamilton and Massa.
Lap 8: Alguersuari now the tail of Sergio Perez and looking to take 15th place from the Mexican.
Lap 6: DRS remains ineffective for Alonso as he continues to chase Button, with Hamilton now close behind in the second McLaren.
Lap 6: Schumacher is on Senna's tail in a battle for ninth and looking to make quick progress.
Lap 6: Maldonado is through on the Finn and takes over 18th place at the Senna S.
Lap 5: Alonso tries the DRS this time but the Spaniard is struggling to get his Ferrari out of the opening complex of corners.
Lap 5: Maldonado also made a poor start to the race and runs in 19th, but he is next onto the tail of Kovalainen.
Lap 5: DRS is now available, but the only leading customer at the moment is Alonso who is just 0.4 seconds behind Button's McLaren.
Lap 5: Alguersuari and Barrichello have passed Kovalainen after making terrible starts. They are 16th and 17th.
Lap 4: Senna is 1.4s down on Sutil in ninth and Schumacher is closing him down.
Lap 4: Replays of the start show Alonso took a great wide line to take fourth away from Hamilton, who was busy defending from the advances of Massa
Lap 4: Buemi is trying to come back at Kobayashi through the infield and take that 13th position back but to no avail.
