Lap 3: The safety car has been deployed.
Lap 3: Liuzzi is out of the race with clear suspension damage on the Force India.
Lap 3: Nick Heidfeld has been into the pits for a new front wing, as we see Tonio Liuzzi crabbing to a halt on the circuit.
Lap 2: Replays of the start show Button got the early advantage over team-mate Hamilton but the latter fought back to retain grid order.
Lap 2: Behind the championship contenders, Rosberg is sixth, with Kubica seventh, Barrichello eighth and Schumacher in ninth position.
Lap 2: Massa is straight into the pits to get rid of the soft tyres. He takes on the hard the compound and gets away quickly.
Lap 2: Alonso is clear off out in front and leads Vettel by a second into lap two.
Lap 2: Alguersuari got away after the field had taken the start and he is at the rear of the pack.
Lap 1: Rosberg is up to sixth, with Kubica seventh and Barrichello down to eighth.
Lap 1: There is contact towards the rear of the field with a Force India involved and Massa is up to 21st.
Lap 1: Rattling through the Singapore Sling chicane it is Alonso from Vettel, Hamilton, Button and Webber.
Lap 1: Alonso gets off the line well and covers Vettel as they go into Turn 1. Alonso holds the position and leads ahead of Vettel and Hamilton.
Lap 1: The five red lights go out and we are racing in Singapore!
Massa rolls into position at the rear of the field as we await the lights ...
Alguersuari is released from the Toro Rosso garage and takes up position at the end of the pitlane.
The field is keeping to the right on the racing line before peeling off into their grid positions.
Alonso makes the turn for home and brings his Ferrari F10 onto the start-finish straight.
This circuit has proven hard on brakes in the past, with the heavy fuel load adding to the worry with numerous braking zones and high ambient temperatures.
The field goes under the grandstand towards the end of the lap, to give the spectators an amazing view of the cars passing underneath them.
Alonso makes his way through Turns 7 and 8, as he weaves from side to side to generate heat into his soft tyres.
The super-soft tyre is the widespread choice of the field, even those outside the top 10 with the freedom to select their tyre compound.
The formation lap begins at Marina Bay. Fernando Alonso leads the field of 23 off the grid, with Jaime Alguersuari to start from the pits.
The engines fire with a minute to go before the formation lap.

The problem affecting Jaime Alguersuari's Toro Rosso is cooling related. In Singapore's extreme heat, he could be in for a very early bath.
Robert Kubica receives last-minute information and data from his race engineer, as he stands on the grid with a damp towel wrapped around his neck to keep cool.
Felipe Massa is getting final instructions from race engineer Rob Smedley. He has a tough night ahead from the back of the grid.

Michael Schumacher is getting ready to climb aboard his Mercedes ahead of the German's first start here.
Jaime Alguersuari did not make it onto the grid before the pits closed. The Spaniard is now forced to start the race from the pitlane.
A huge crowd of spectators are packing the circuit and they rise in unison to respect the Singapore national anthem, as it rings out over Marina Bay.
The pitlane has now closed. Any car not on the grid by now, will be required to start from the pitlane - after the rest have taken the start.
Massa is now on his final tour to take up position at the back of the grid.

Massa is underway again after installation checks but is also popping through the pits to get his car tuned in with a practice launch.
Alonso has been practicing starts at the end of the pitlane but is now heading around to take up his place on the grid.
Lewis Hamilton is also now on the grid, climbing out of his McLaren from his third-place spot on the clean side of the track.
Jenson Button has stepped out of his McLaren on the grid and is off for a chat with his engineers.
