Who would have thought that Fernando Alonso would score a 50 point maximum in the last two races, while Lewis Hamilton came away with nothing? That is exactly what's happened in the last fortnight as the momentum between the top three teams swings once again.

Alonso is the big mover in the points standings, taking over second after his win this evening. Webber's lead is now 11 points, with Hamilton dropping to 20 behind after a costly retirement that also dents McLaren's advances in the constructors' race.

The spectators gather over the start-finish straight after an eventful race at Marina Bay.
Eight drivers retired from the Singapore Grand Prix:
Glock retired in the pits after a spirited defensive drive for much of the race.
Heidfeld retired after contact with Michael Schumacher as the pair were battling for 14th place.
Hamilton was out after a clash with Webber for position, just after the restart.
Christian Klien retired in the pits.
Kobayashi lost control of his Sauber at turn 18 and smashed into the barriers. Senna collected him bringing out the safety car for the second time.
Jarno Trulli retired early on after four pitstops, while Tonio Liuzzi posted the first retirement when he stopped on track, to bring out the safety car for the first time.

The champagne sprays on the podium and Alonso makes sure that Aldo Costa gets a soaking.
Webber is very happy to pick up the third place trophy on a great day for his points total at the top of the table.

Alonso is happy, if a little hot and sweaty, as he accepts the award for a fine win around the streets of Singapore.

The top three drivers step out onto the podium and the Spanish national anthem rings out for Fernando Alonso - tonight's winner.
Hamilton is now 20 points adrift of championship leader Webber, with Vettel a further point behind.
Alonso has plenty energy left after a two-hour scrap and celebrates his fourth win of the season.
So Virgin Racing wins the new teams battle with di Grassi's placing. Kovalainen was classified as the final finisher in 16th position.
But Alonso is clearly delighted to defeat Red Bull here, putting him just 11 points off the championship lead.
Vitaly Petrov finished 11th, out of the points. Alguersuari was 12th with Schumacher 13th, Buemi 14th and di Grassi 15th.
"We will get them, don't you worry," exclaims a confident Vettel on the team radio.
But Sutil holds on for eighth position and crosses the line just ahead of Hulkenberg ninth and Massa claims the final point in 10th.
Hulkenberg is trying everything to get past Sutil as they approach the final corners.
Kubica fought back very strongly from that unscheduled stop and takes seventh.
It's a fine fifth for Rosberg, with Barrichello also impressive in sixth.
Jenson Button takes a solid fourth in his McLaren, keeping himself within reach of the championship leaders.
Mark Webber grabs the final podium place after a great strategic drive, putting him further out front in the championship standings.
Vettel pushed Alonso from lights to flag but in the end he couldn't find a way through, but still scores 18 valuable points.
It has been an outstanding afternoon for the Spaniard, resisting immense pressure from Vettel all the way to score a fine, and vital, win.
Lap 61: Fernando Alonso wins the Singapore Grand Prix!
Lap 61: Sutil is still in eighth place and has Hulkenberg, Massa and Petrov right behind his Force India.
Lap 61: Alonso is now behind Massa but there is little chance for Vettel to do it now.
Lap 61: The Petrov/Massa/Hulkenberg scrap is right ahead of the leaders as they race around for the final time.
Lap 61: It is an unfortunate end to Kovalainen's race. Di Grassi takes over the new teams lead for Virgin Racing in 15th position.
Lap 61: Kovalainen pulls off with his car ablaze on the pit straight, and immediately set to work with a fire extinguisher.
Lap 60: Vettel is right with Alonso as they start the final lap.
Lap 60: Kovalainen's Lotus was tipped into a spin and clearly an oil line was damaged. The Finn was able to rejoin but his car has progressively burst into flames.
Lap 59: Replays show that Buemi attempted a move for 14th place against Kovalainen and the pair made contact.
Lap 59: There's still five minutes on the clock, meaning the 61 laps will be finished just inside the time limit.
Lap 59: Kubica has pulled away 13.1 seconds ahead of Sutil since passing him a few laps ago.
