Lap 19: Mark Webber takes two-stop fuel and resumes behind Kubica, who has a couple more laps of fuel before his first stop.
Lap 19: The closest battle down the field at the moment is between Kovalainen and Glock for 10th place. That battle is moving up the order as others ahead of them come into the pits.
Lap 18: Mark Webber pits from his brief lead of the race and Nico Rosberg joins him for a stop.
Lap 18: Button takes the hard tyres and a long slug of fuel.
He resumes ahead of Vettel in third but behind Webber and Rosberg, who have yet to stop.

Lap 18: Out of the points Kazuki Nakajima is in ninth place, with Heikki Kovalainen nicely in to tenth as we speculated before the race. Timo Glock is 11th with Heidfeld 12th, Sutil 13th and Alonso in 14th position, having stopped a couple of laps ago.
His Renault team-mate Piquet is 15th, Hamilton not making any progress in 16th, Buemi 17th, Bourdais 18th and poor Barrichello down in 19th - just under eight second behind the French driver.

Lap 17: Jenson Button pits from the lead.
Lap 17: Jarno Trulli is the next man in the pits. He slides too deep in the pit and resumes ninth, ahead of Nakajima.
Lap 16: Alonso rejoins further down the order in 14th place, and is now right behind Adrian Sutil.
Lap 16: Sebastian Vettel pits for his first stop. He takes the hard tyres and a very short fill of fuel, possibly moving to a three-stop plan.
Lap 15: Fernando Alonso pits from seventh with the first planned stop of the day.
Lap 14: Barrichello is forced into the pits with that damaged front wing, and the Brawn mechanics go to work and put a new nose on the car.
Barrichello has swapped 15th for 19th and last position in the race at the moment.

Lap 14: Jenson Button sets a new fastest lap of 1:27.799 as he pulls to over five seconds ahead of Vettel, who is a similar amount clear of his team-mate Webber.
Lap 13: All the main action in the race at the moment surrounds the Brawn recovery drive of Barrichello. He reports on the team radio to his engineer Jock Clear that he has lost seventh gear.
Nevertheless he catches Sutil and goes for 14th place at the final corner of the lap. The pair touch and Barrichello damages his front wing!

Lap 12: The gaps continue to widen in the top ten with the only real interest at the moment being Raikkonen around a second behind Kubica's BMW.
Kimi is due to stop a couple of laps before the BMW so he really needs to get past on the road.

Lap 12: Lewis Hamilton on the last lap was a full second quicker than Nelson Piquet - thanks to the Brazilian's mistake when he was defending against Barrichello. The gap between them is 1.3 seconds.
Lap 12: Barrichello closes up to the back of Piquet at the end of the long straight ... and is helped quite nicely by the Renault driver. Piquet outbrakes himself in a bid to stay ahead, and Rubens says thank-you very much and slices up the inside, into 15th place.
Barrichello will now tear after Sutil who is 14th and doing a solid job so far this afternoon.

Lap 11: There are still 48 laps to go, but Barrichello's struggle today will hand an even bigger advantage to Button in the championship if Jenson takes yet another win.
Lap 10: Barrichello's next target will be his fellow-Brazilian Nelson Piquet, in 15th place.
Lap 10: Rubens Barrichello steams up the inside of Lewis Hamilton at Turn 6 and takes 16th place away from the Briton.
Lap 10: Giancarlo Fisichella didn't make it back out of the pits, and has now retired from the race.
Lap 9: Barrichello then has another go at Turn 9 to try and take that 11th place back, but makes a mistake and spins away his 12th position. He appears to have little, if any, damage and has rejoined in 17th place - behind the other McLaren of Lewis Hamilton.
Lap 8: Rubens Barrichello makes a marvellous move on Kovalainen and takes 11th place in the final slow corners of the lap leading onto the pits straight. Heikki then presses his KERS button out of the final turn and takes position back immediately.
The battle continues.
The battle continues.
Lap 7: Behind Rosberg, Felipe Massa is in sixth, Alonso seventh and Robert Kubica in eighth place.
Kimi Raikkonen is ninth and all over the back of the Pole, and he is pulling out a small gap on Nakajima who is tenth.
The Kovalainen-Barrichello battle continues for 11th and behind them, Glock is 13th, Heidfeld 14th. Glock has passed Nick in the last couple of laps. Sutil is 15th, Piquet 16th. Lewis Hamilton is not making any progress yet in 17th and then come the Toro Rossos.

Lap 7: Jenson Button continues to set the pace and is now almost three seconds clear of Vettel, who doesn't seem to have the pace to respond to the Brawn at this stage.
Lap 6: Fernando Alosno has the softer tyres on his Renault for his short first stint. He is holding on to eighth ahead of Kubica's BMW.
Lap 5: Giancarlo Fisichella is dropping down the field and the Italian is into the pits at the end of the lap.
Lap 5: Webber, Trulli and Rosberg are equally spaced in third, fourth and fifth with a battle shaping up as Massa closes on Rosberg.
Lap 4: Rubens Barrichello shapes up for a move on Heikki Kovalainen, but he simply isn't able to get the job done on the long straights. Once Heikki activates that KERS button he takes off with an extra burst of speed, making it very easy to maintain track position.
Rubens is going to have to get brave if he wants to pass the McLaren.

Lap 4: Jenson Button leads into the fourth lap and is now 1.7 seconds clear of Vettel, who must be ruing that mistake on the first lap that handed the lead to his rival.
Lap 3: Behind the top four, Rosberg has moved up well at the start and is now ahead of sixth-place Massa, and a scrap between Alonso and Kubica over seventh.
Lap 3: Barrichello is fighting his Brawn all round the circuit. He is on the tail of Kovalainen now in a battle for 11th. Barrichello passed Heidfeld early on the second lap.
Lap 2: Replays show Vettel ran wide out of Turn 10, handing the lead to Button on the opening lap.
Lap 2: Heikki Kovalainen has made a very good start and is up into 11th position in the McLaren.
Lap 2: It is all change at the front with Button leading from Vettel and Webber now third ahead of Trulli.
Lap 2: Barrichello has dropped down the field like a stone and is down in 13th position as they come through to complete the first lap of the race.
Lap 2: Webber is all over the tail of a fast-starting Jarno Trulli but up front Button has slipped by Vettel in to the lead!
Lap 1: Through Turn 8 it is Vettel from Button, Trulli, Webber and Massa.
Lap 1: Vettel gets a good start and leads from Button at Turn 1, as Barrichello gets a terrible start and almost stalled on the grid.
Lap 1: The five red lights go out and we are racing in Turkey!
The front row move into their slots. The field of 20 are forming up nicely on the grid, on a roasting day in Turkey.
We await the lights ...
