Lap 38: Big news down the field for everyone comes from Lewis Hamilton, who is struggling already on those soft tyres. He is losing pace quickly and has been overtaken for 17th place by Sebastien Buemi.
Hamilton is now running two seconds per lap slower than the bulk of the field.

Lap 37: Fernando Alonso in ninth is still having no joy getting past Robert Kubica as the pair battle for eighth.

Fernando's response ... 'I cannot do that!'

Lap 37: Mark Webber laps the Toro Rosso of Sebastian Bourdais, who is well behind the field on a one-stop strategy.
Lap 36: Sebastien Bourdais has made his one and only stop of the afternoon and rejoins in last place. The heavy strategy won't pay off for the Toro Rosso driver this time.
Lap 35: Hamilton comes out in 16th place right in front of Piquet. He jumped the Renault in the stop, but Piquet isn't having any of it.
The Renault driver sends an amazing move down the outside of Hamilton which becomes the inside through the switchback final section of corners. Nelson hangs in there and brilliantly secures track position - an amazing move. Piquet up to 16th place, Hamilton 17th.

Lap 33: The potential for a battle between the 2007 McLaren team-mates doesn't last long as Hamilton comes in for his one and only stop this afternoon. Lewis takes on the soft tyres and will need to make them last until the end of the race - a tall order.
Lap 32: Nelson Piquet makes his first stop in the Renault. The Brazilian had climbed as high as 11th place and is out after a total pitlane time of 26.0 seconds.
That stop for Piquet now gives Hamilton a clear shot at Fernando Alonso for ninth ...

Lap 32: Button now leads by over 16 seconds from Webber. Vettel is 7.4 seconds behind his team-mate but will surely close that gap and look to challenge Webber on the road.
Lap 31: Glock spends 24.3s total in the pitlane and rejoins just behind the Renault versus Hamilton scrap.
Lap 31: The battle for ninth is developing lap by lap. Robert Kubica is beginning to pull away from Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard has his team-mate Piquet all over the back of him as their pace slows, which has enabled 12th placed Lewis Hamilton to catch them easily.
Lap 31: The order is now Button from Webber, Vettel, Rosberg and Trulli as Timo Glock makes a late first stop.
Lap 30: Vettel pits for his second stop of three, taking more hard tyres and resuming third, behind his team-mate.

Lap 30: Nick Heidfeld pits the BMW from eighth place, promoting Nakajima into the final points-paying position.

Lap 29: Vettel continues to seek a way past Button's leading Brawn as he nears the end of this short fuel run.
Being unable to release the speed of a lighter car is heavily compromising Vettel's strategy and his second place looks under threat from team-mate Webber.

Lap 28: Kazuki Nakajima has made his late first stop and resumes ninth.

Lap 27: This scrap at the front is similar to Lewis Hamilton's three versus two stop battle with Felipe Massa last year.
Although Hamilton managed to pass Massa at this phase of the race, the additional stop put him behind his rival by the flag.

Lap 23: Vettel continues to close on Button as Red Bull's aggressive strategy takes the fight to the leader.
Lap 22: Sebastian Vettel continues to close down Button's lead as he takes advantage of his lighter fuel load. He really needs to pass Button very quickly and head off in to the distance to make up the time needed for an additional stop.
Lap 22: Raikkonen and Hamilton are tied together through the final slow corners of the lap. Hamilton gets a good exit and powers past the Ferrari and up to 14th as they brake for Turn 1.
Lap 21: Adrian Sutil comes into the pits from 11th place in the Force India.
Kimi Raikkonen rejoined after his stop way down in 14th place. He has Lewis Hamilton catching him as we shape up for a McLaren versus Ferrari battle at the rear of the field.
