Lap 52: The race-long battle at the back between Fisichella and Liuzzi is finally going in the Ferrari driver's favour. They have been tied together since the start, but Fisichella is now edging away, and has pulled out a four second gap.

Lap 52: Button is now due in the pits. He is looking to come out behind Vettel after the Red Bull driver has put in some quick laps.

There are just 14 cars left circulating with 12 laps to go.
Lap 50: Button continues for another lap and this long middle stint is going to work out brilliantly for the championship leader.
Lap 50: Both Toro Rosso cars are wheeled into the garage simultaneously as the team withdraw the drivers from the race.
Lap 50: Button is flying at this stage, taking advantage of his light car while his rivals are all heavy. Button is set to move up well with this.
Lap 49: Alguersuari and Buemi pit together! That's going to get busy down at Toro Rosso.
Lap 49: Glock is fourth from Vettel, Raikkonen and Barrichello.
Lap 49: Button has profited from that Kovalainen stop and is currently third, with the track now clear.
Lap 48: Many of the teams have brought their cars into the pits, in anticipation of a safety car intervention that hasn't come.
Lap 48: Alonso leads into the yellow flag zone, 3.9 seconds ahead of Hamilton but yet to stop.
Lap 48: Jenson Button has remained out and could leap Kovalainen if the safety car isn't thrown.
Lap 48: Replays show that the right front brake disc failed as he attempted to slow down in the opening section of the lap.
Lap 48: Barrichello, Kovalainen and Nakajima have also made final stops under the threat of safety car.
Lap 47: Webber is out of the race. A disastrous end after such a promising start to the event.
Lap 47: Hamilton dives into the pits for his final stop in case the safety car is deployed.
Lap 47: Mark Webber has crashed in the Red Bull at the opening complex of corners.
Lap 47: The Red Bull crew take the opportunity to quickly measure how much thickness Webber has left on his front right brake, and send him back out after a 14 second stop after a change of tyres and a slug of fuel.
Lap 46: Glock, fuelled to the finish, resumes behind Button and Kovalainen.
Lap 46: This circuit is very hard on brakes and other drivers may run into problems in the closing stages.

Lap 44: Vettel's pace is poor after that damage to the floor of the Red Bull.
Lap 44: Robert Kubica comes into the pits from ninth place in the BMW. It is a short stop for the Pole and he comes back out further down the field. Nakajima is now promoted to ninth.
Lap 43: Vettel has a couple of laps remaining before he must serve the drive-through. He is staying out as long as possible.
Lap 43: This is a major mistake from Vettel as his strong charge to the podium will end in a slide down the order and serious damage to his already slim championship hopes.
Lap 42: It's all ebbing away after such a strong start to the race for the Red Bull team. If both Brawn cars beat them tonight it is effectively game over for Christian Horner's outfit.
Lap 42: Vettel has indeed been handed a costly drive-through for speeding.
Lap 42: Vettel has also ripped some pieces off the floor of the Red Bull with a ride over the kerbs at Turn 5.
