Robert Kubica thrilled with rallying form so far

Robert Kubica has admitted he is pleased with the rally-leading speed he has shown early in his new career

The Pole led his third European Rally Championship round in succession in last week's Tour of Corsica, but he failed to turn that promise into a win when a fuel pump problem struck his Citroen DS3 RRC towards the end of the opening day.

"I've been pleased with my pace, I've won stages and I've been able to fight at the top on all three rallies I have done," said Kubica.

"To come to these events for the first time and drive at the same pace as the championship contenders gives me a positive to take away from this.

"Now we're going to focus on the WRC, which is my priority, but of course we will do Rally Poland and maybe one more."

Kubica is testing his Citroen on rough gravel this week, in preparation for the Acropolis Rally at the end of next week.

"I will have my test and then I will go to Greece on the Monday so there is not a lot of time," he added.

"I know it's a very specific event and you have to take care of the car.

"It will be an interesting experience because it's my first time on rough gravel and I know I cannot take big risks because I really want to finish."

While Kubica's WRC2 programme now takes priority this season, he could add the ERC's Sanremo Rally to his schedule.
