Freddy Loix continues to dominate the Ypres Rally after day one

Freddy Loix has moved into a dominant lead at the end of the first day of his home round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, the Ypres Rally

The Skoda driver was quickest on all six Friday stages, to established a 36.7-second lead over Peugeot UK's Guy Wilks.

Local Skoda man Pieter Tsjoen continues to fend off PH Peugeot's Bryan Bouffier in the battle for third. Luca Rossetti has fallen back from this group after his Abarth temporarily dropped onto three cylinders on SS4, but has recovered to eighth.

Former Junior World Rally Championship frontrunner Hans Weijs holds a praiseworthy fifth on his IRC S2000 debut.
