Warm-up: It's Merc versus Aiello

If the warm-up isn't telling 'porky pies', it's looking like it will be Laurent Aiello versus the Mercedes hordes in round eight of the DTM at Austria's A1-Ring

Jean Alesi was fastest for Mercedes in a repeat of Saturday's cool, but sunny conditions, with Aiello's Abt-Audi TT-R second fastest. Pole-sitter Marcel Fassler was third, with Christijan Albers and points leader Bernd Schneider making it four works Mercs in the top five.

Peter Dumbreck led the Opels, taking sixth place, but mainly used the session to home in on a neutral set-up for the race itself. The Scot ran 21 laps in total - the most of anybody in the 21-car field. Timo Scheider and Alain Menu made it three Opels in the top 10.

The 40-lap race is scheduled to begin at 14:00 CET (13:00 UK time).
