Reuter predicts a hard fight

Manuel Reuter, who saw arch rival Bernd Schneider open up a three point lead at the head of the DTM title table, believes that the fight for the championship will go all the way to the final round.

The Opel driver, who put in two storming drives at the Norisring to claim a third and second place, claims that the difference in pace between the Opel and Mercedes cars is too small to give any driver an advantage. "The championship fight is so open and I hope it is decided in the last race," he said. "I am glad I did not lose much ground to Bernd this weekend and you can see that everyone is really driving on the limit. That is why there were so many incidents here, as well as at Hockenheim and Oschersleben.

"My team and I are not going to give up the fight for the championship until it is over. There is still so long to go and I just hope the cars stay reliable so the championship is not decided by someone retiring."
