Practice: Alesi once more
Former Formula 1 star Jean Alesi continued to set the pace ahead of the fifth round of the DTM at Norisring in Germany on Saturday morning
The Frenchman bettered his time of Friday by 0.006secs, but the opposition was much closer to his 48.764s lap this time. AMG Mercedes team-mate Christijan Albers was just 0.027s in arrears, while Bernd Schneider wasn't far behind in third.
Audi's one-lap specialist Martin Tomczyk finally showed some form, the young German fourth fastest on 48.860s. He was backed up by the other Abt-Audis of Tom Kristensen and series leader Mattias Ekstrom. Timo Scheider was the fastest Opel in seventh, ahead of Christian Abt (Audi), Manuel Reuter (Opel) and a strangely off the pace Gary Paffett (AMG Mercedes).
Fifth fastest yesterday, Peter Dumbreck was only 14th fastest this time, the Scot less three-tenths off Alesi's fastest time. He spun during the session, as did team-mate Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Merc's Markus Winkelhock.
