Audi logs more A4 miles
Audi works drivers Frank Biela and Tom Kristensen recorded more than 1,300 kilometres in the new Audi A4 DTM car on the former grand prix circuit of Jerez in Spain last week.
After a successful dress rehearsal in the rain on Tuesday and Wednesday in the hands of Kristensen, Biela completed the test session on Thursday and Friday on a dry track.
Meanwhile, following its successful Nurburgring 24 Hours debut last year, in which the Abt-Audi TT-R finished second overall, Abt will again take on the Nordschleife this year. Team Infineon Abt Sportsline is currently building up the two race cars that are based on last year's DTM cars in its Kempten premises.
DTM drivers Christian Abt and Mattias Ekstrom will share one car, and will be joined by former BMW ETCC racer Fredrik Ekblom, who won the Swedish title in an Audi A4 last year. Ex-Mercedes DTM racer Patrick Huisman will be partnered by Frank Stippler and Karl Wendlinger in the sister car.
"We have assembled a powerful squad with a mixture of seasoned campaigners and youngsters for the 24 Hour race at the Nurburgring," said head of Audi Motorsport Dr Wolfgang Ullrich.
