Saood Variawa edged out team-mate Henk Lategan in a Toyota 1-2 on Stage 8 of the 2026 Dakar Rally, as the pack closes in on leader Nasser Al-Attiyah.
Just over 10 minutes splits the entire top five on the overall leaderboard, with Al-Attiyah’s nearest rival Ford’s Mattias Ekstrom exactly four minutes behind, as he remained ahead of Lategan and Ford team-mates Nani Roma and Carlos Sainz Sr.
