Neal moves ahead in practice two
Matt Neal was fastest in the second British Touring Car free practice session at Thruxton this afternoon
Neal's Honda Racing Civic set a best of 1m18.154s in the second part of the session, which had been red-flagged when Frank Wrathall's Dynojet Toyota Avensis pulled off.
Tom Chilton's Arena Motorsport Ford Focus, which topped this morning's slightly slower session, was second.
The Eurotech Racing Vauxhall Vectra of Jeff Smith was third, with team-mate Andrew Jordan fifth.
Between the Vauxhalls was reigning champion Jason Plato's RML Chevrolet Cruze. He was just a quarter of a second behind Neal, indicating the new boost reduction for the turbos may have brought Plato's normally aspirated machine back into the frame.
Neal's team-mate Gordon Shedden completed the top six, while Tom Boardman's Special Tuning Racing SEAT Leon was seventh.
The ballast-laden championship leader James Nash was 10th in his Triple 8 Engineering Vectra.
