Knockhill Feature Race Qualifying Report

The Italian was just 0.094s faster than series leader Alain Menu's Ford Mondeo. It is the J.A.S team's first pole in the BTCC.

James Thompson was third on his return to the series after missing four races due to the after-effects of his huge Brands Hatch accident.

The Vauxhalls were struggling, weighed-down with success ballast after dominating the last rounds at Thruxton. Number one driver Yvan Muller will start seventh ahead of team-mate Vincent Radermecker.

Alan Morrison continued to dominate the depleted class B field, with the Barwell Honda's his only rivals after John Bintcliffe's Nissan team opted to skip the meeting to cure continuing engine problems.
