Organisers revise 2000 calendar
The British Touring Car Championship calendar has been amended following a recent agreement between organisers TOCA and the BRDC to avoid date clashes
The BTCC will start as originally planned at Brands Hatch on April 9.
The Donington Park meeting, originally scheduled for March 26, has now been switched to Easter Bank Holiday despite a clash with the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, a day earlier.
The inaugural visit to Mondello Park has been scrapped because essential improvement work required to bring the Irish circuit up to the required standards of the FIA and TOCA have not been completed.
Organisers hope to include the track on its 2001 calendar.
In addition, the Croft PowerTour has been moved forward one weekend to July 22/23 to avoid clashing with the BTCC meeting at Donington Park.
