Filippi joins Auto GP field
Luca Filippi is the latest GP2 driver to sign up for this season's Auto GP championship
The 25-year-old Italian raced in the series from 2006-'09, winning two races with a best result of fourth in the '07 standings, and was also a test driver for the Honda F1 team in '08.
He will race in Auto GP for the Italian-based Euronova team, managed by former F1 driver Vincenzo Sospiri, who he raced for in Formula Renault back in 2003-'04.
"I decided to race in Auto GP because it puts together two organisations that I know well, Euronova and Coloni," said Filippi. "I started racing with Euronova and I have a wonderful relationship with Vincenzo and the team, so when I saw that they were racing in the championship I started thinking about it.
"I immediately understood that were preparing a great series and so I'm here. The last time I raced in a Coloni championship, the Italian F3000 in 2005, I won it, so I decided to try again."
