Webber: there's plenty to do

Despite being marked out as one of Formula 1's most promising talents, Webber's best result in the sport is still the fifth placed finish he achieved in his debut grand prix for Minardi in Melbourne in 2002. And that is a factor that is leaving him keen to get on and work on his maiden win from the start of the new campaign.

"I haven't achieved a great deal in Formula 1 yet," admitted Webber, making an appearance at the Autosport International show. "Testing has not been so bad but testing is one thing and racing is another. We've got to deliver from Melbourne onwards, which means winning races, and it's going to be tough.

"The new BAR is going to be quick, plus there is also the McLaren, Renault and Ferrari to think about. I hope to be able to mix it with the action at the front."

Webber admitted that he is relishing his new surroundings and, although Williams enjoyed mixed fortunes during what was a relatively disappointing 2004, he knows the team, especially Frank Williams and Patrick Head, will be eager to make amends this year.

"I have settled into Williams pretty quickly," he added. "I have been getting to know people quite quickly, although it is not easy to get to know everyone so soon.

"Williams had a season [last year] that was below par. But Frank, Patrick and BMW are driven individuals, they love competing and they love winning. This will galvanise them more to compete in 2005.

"We've got to make sure the red thing doesn't win as often as it has!"
