TCR revokes BoP after Lynk & Cos dominate Zandvoort WTCR qualifying

TCR has revised its Balance of Performance figures with immediate effect, in reaction to Cyan Racing's Lynk & Co cars dominating World Touring Car Cup qualifying at Zandvoort

An adjustment was made to the TCR's BoP ahead of this weekend's Zandvoort round, which in WTCR affected only the Lynk & Co 03 run by Cyan.

The car was given a 10kg increase in BoP weight compared to last weekend's Slovakia Ring round, but also had its engine's power level raised to 100%.

Thed Bjork set the fastest time in Friday's second practice session and subsequently swept to pole, heading a Cyan Racing top-four lockout in the times - although Yann Ehrlacher was given a five-place grid penalty for blocking Augusto Farfus and will start the first race ninth.

TCR's technical department released a bulletin on Saturday afternoon that effectively revokes the BoP issued after last weekend's Slovakia Ring WTCR round.

The Lynk & Co will contest the remainder of the weekend with 10kg less BoP weight - 30kg in total - and at 97.5% engine power.

In a statement issued by WSC, group president Marcello Lotti said: "The BoP works very well thanks to the joint efforts of the technical departments of WSC and FIA; and this was proved by the results of the previous events.

"The adjustment granted to the Lynk & Co had been applied following their performance at the Slovakia Ring.

"That is a brand new car and after only three events our technicians still don't have built a complete picture of its potential, which is why there was a misjudged interpretation of their performance.

"Because of this, the BoP has been further adjusted to rebalance the performance."
