Priaulx troubled by wheel locking
Andy Priaulx has blamed a locking wheel as the reason for his off in testing today
The reigning World Touring Car champion went off into the gravel trap at Paddock Hill bend early in the testing session, and admits that he is struggling to understand how to slow his BMW 320si down for that corner.
"I think I've got a problem with one of the wheels in the air and it's locking and not slowing the car down and it just caught me out," Priaulx said.
"I was building up really nicely and went straight off. I thought I actually had a puncture but I've just got to get my head around this particular car on this track.
"The last car I drove here was the Honda British Touring car and it was front wheel drive and you drove the corner a bit differently to that.
"With the BMW you have to commit the car quite a lot on the turn-in at the entry stage, like a Formula Three car, and carry the speed all the way through. You can't let the speed drop away.
"But the Honda touring car, you had to slow it down more and drive through the corner, which is a typical front-wheel drive technique. I need to try and find a way to slow it down."
