Jorg Muller Takes Magny-Cours Pole

The BMW Team Deutschland grabbed today their second consecutive WTCC pole position, this time with Jorg Muller taking the top spot at Magny Cours, for the second event - and third round - of the 2005 season

Jorg Muller Takes Magny-Cours Pole

Muller, setting a time of one minute and 49.486 seconds, will start alongside SEAT's Rickard Rydell. Augusto Farfus claimed third position for Alfa Romeo, after beating by only one thousandth of a second Briton BMW UK's Andy Priaulx.

The qualifying session ended with debutant Frank Diefenbacher crashing heavily into the barriers of the French track, substantially damaging his Ford Focus. He was taken to a Nevers hospital for a precautionary check-up.

Alex Zanardi, for BMW Italy, was unable to set a time better than fourteenth, after his car stopped on track with gearbox problems, just minutes before the qualifying session was over.
