Dirk Muller has claimed pole position at Monza in the WTCC for BMW, three tenths ahead of teammate Jorg Muller

All Muller Front Row at Monza

Dirk Muller ran a lap of 1:59.009 in a session that saw BMW fill the tope three spots, with Antonio Garcia running four tenths off the pole pace. The top six places were filled by drivers who lapped under two minutes, including the practice pace setter Andy Priaulx who finished sixth.

Alfa Romeo's Gabriele Tarquini was the first non-BMW runner in fourth, while Alfa's pace setting man in the wet first session and dry second practice James Thompson was a disappointing tenth.

SEAT's challenge was led by Jordi Gene, the first of the two minute men in seventh position, while Roberto Colciago is the top running Honda man in fourteenth, and Robert Huff leads the Chevrolet charge from 21st, a disappointing 3.6 seconds off the pace.
