SS3, Simou: Gronholm again...

Marcus Gronholm is making the most of Cyprus' rough conditions, racking up his second stage win in a row. Peugeot's world champion was quickest on the longest test of Leg One, Simou, just ahead of Richard Burns in the Subaru

Kenneth Eriksson continues his good showing, posting the third quickest time through the 35.57km SS3. The Hyundai driver lost a little time to Gronholm, however, and although he retains his second place overall, three seconds ahead of Burns, he is now 14 seconds behind the Finn.

The stage was delayed by over an hour to let the field bunch up following Hamed Al-Wahaibi's Subaru setting alight on SS1. But despite the hold-up Rally Argentina winner Colin McRae is keeping just in touch with the leaders. The Scot was fourth through the stage, six seconds slower than Gronholm, and is 24 seconds behind the Finn on the leaderboard.

Freddy Loix and Petter Solberg posted the fifth and sixth fastest times through this third timed section, Solberg recovering from the power steering problems that affected his Impreza WRC on the previous stage.
