Service H - Ruawai: Rain starts to fall
Richard Burns (Subaru) - rally leader: " I would prefer it if it didn't rain this afternoon. The gap is so marginal as to whether I lead or drop back."
(Ford) - second, +25.3s: Responding to whether he can catch Burns - "It depends how much time he (Burns) takes off me by the end of the day. I won't give up. If he continues like this though and he doesn't have a problem he will win the rally. But a lot can still happen."
(Peugeot) - third, +49.8s: "Richard is going so well, I'm really impressed. We'll have to see what happens on the next three stages. Tomorrow is a little different as running on the road is not so bad."
(Ford) - fourth, +52.2s: "We are going with a narrow tyre which wouldn't make any sense in normal circumstances."
(Peugeot) - fourth, +1m04.7s: "I feel like I am losing time everywhere. I'm really trying to go faster but Burns, Auriol and Rovanpera have a big advantage."
(Peugeot) - sixth, +1m21.7s: "No problems"
(Subaru) - seventh, +2m08.3s: Had a rear tyre mousse break up on stage 13.
(Mitsubishi) - eighth, +2m12.1s: "With the combination of tyres and the way the car is working, it is impossible to go faster."
When asked what is the best he can hope for, he said: "I depends what the others do, we have 90km of stages tomorrow."
(Hyundai) - ninth, +2m20.6s: "I am suffering a bit with traction and because we have bad tyre wear we're having to run on a harder compound which isn't ideal."
(Hyundai) - 11th, +3m07.4s: "I don't regret running first on the road, It's a long time since I've led a rally so it's nice and the balance of the car is good. In some places though there are 2cm of gravel."
(Mitsubishi) - 12th, +3m09.5s: "I span twice on right handers in SS12 and 13. But I have nothing to lose."
(Subaru) - 13th, +4m51.7s: He spun and stalled on SS12. He had to rush back and fourth three of for times to turn around as the road was so narrow.
