Service D, Felindre: Final thoughts

Marcus Gronholm (Peugeot) - leader: "On the first corner of SS8 - a fast right hander I went wide and was very lucky not to go off. It's very slippy. Oh! Oh!

(Subaru) - second, +36.6s: "I'm going fast when I can see, but I'm having to go a lot steadier in the foggier bits. Stage eight was quite muddy too so quite tricky really."

(Peugeot) - third, +52.4s: "I lost the fog lights on stage seven so that really slowed me down a bit. Not nice. But we are very happy with our position. Today we have not made a big mistake but we have made a few small ones.

(Peugeot) - fourth, +2:10.0s: "I don't know what happened. On a quite easy right corner on stage eight we suddenly had a spin. We were very lucky not to hit anything. But I think we broke something on the right rear corner, I think the drive shaft is broken. The car was unstable and was impossible to drive and it was impossible to go flat out. We are lucky to be here."

(Ford) - fifth, +2:26.9s: "We went off the road on stage eight. We just slipped off in the fog and couldn't come back."

(Hyundai) - sixth, +2:37.6s: "In places we were almost coming to a stop on SS8 the fog's that bad. But apart from that the car's really good. The fog and the mist cost quite a bit of time on the last two stages but we have had quite a few heart stopping moments."

We've run pretty much perfectly and had no problems with the car."

(Ford) - seventh, +3:41.9s: "Stage eight was a real nightmare, with patchy mud and fog. You were never sure what was coming next. The stage was better in the recce but it was light then - now it's dark."

(Skoda) - eighth, +3:51.9s: "The first three stages went well. The car handling was good but in the second group of stages we had no grip and the diff was slipping. The last two were very bad, we had no traction and lots of wheel spin. I also couldn't switch on and off the full beam. But we have done good times from the beginning. If we can sort out the problems we will have a good day tomorrow."
