Sainz coy over retirement
Rally Argentina winner Carlos Sainz has said that he's still undecided about whether he will retire at the end of the season, despite taking a record-breaking 26th WRC victory on last weekend's event
The double world champion suggested at the end of 2003 that this could be his last year in the sport, but in recent weeks has admitted that he is unlikely to come to a firm decision before September.
"That is something that I'll have to discuss with my boss [at Citroen], something to discuss with my wife, who is my boss as well," he said. "It's something I have to discuss with myself as well. I think, it's something I don't want to talk about now. We will see later in the year - in September - what is happening."
Sainz's decision could prove vital to the driver market, as the second Citroen seat is likely to be keenly sought by several of the sport's top drivers and rising stars. Ford's Markko Martin has been strongly linked to the team in recent weeks.
