OMV pair in the points but unhappy
OMV Peugeot drivers Manfred Stohl and Henning Solberg were less than overjoyed with their respective third and fifth places in Mexico, both having endured frustrating rallies
Stohl never got to grips with his car's handling and finished almost five minutes behind winner Sebastien Loeb.
"Obviously third is fantastic and I'm quite happy with it," Stohl mused. "But all the weekend I was not 100% confident and you can see the time difference to the leading cars is a bit too much."
Solberg struggled with brake problems from the very first stage, and believed his predicament was similar to the trouble that Marcus Gronholm encountered with his Peugeot 307 on the 2005 Rally Mexico. Gronholm's brakes continually overheated last year, a problem exacerbated by his left foot braking style.
"I am not happy, but this is motorsport," said Solberg. "Last year Marcus had the same problem and this year it's much warmer on this rally.
"My driving style is not like Manfred's style, we use brakes differently, like Marcus and Markko Martin last year. I cannot do anything about it.
"Hopefully we will sort it out for the next rally. I don't think it will be a big problem for the rest of the year."
