McRae says he'll carry on
Colin McRae has stated his desire to continue competing in the World Rally Championship after his current contract expires at the end of the season. In this week's AUTOSPORT magazine, the 1995 champion revealed that he is as hungry as ever for success
"I still want to win the world championship," he said. "I'm certainly not about to stop rallying at this level just yet."
The Ford driver stopped short of saying that he'll continue with his current team, although his options appear limited elsewhere.
"I stayed at Ford the last time because I'd put a lot of work in," he said, "and that hasn't changed. But that doesn't mean I'd stay there. It's always easier to stay with what you know, but I want to be in a car that can win. A lot depends on how the Focus and the team look at decision time."
After a slow start to the season, McRae is looking to get his championship challenge back on track at the first gravel round of the series in Cyprus which takes place starts on April 19.
The full story appears in this week's AUTOSPORT, which is on sale on Thursday priced £2.80
