McRae: 'I'll give it everything'
Colin McRae hopes to bounce back from his disappointing Rally Catalunya with a final flourish on next week's Wales Rally GB - an event that could be his last in the WRC
The Scot has not has his contract renewed with current employer Citroen and his remaining WRC opportunity looks to be buying a drive with Ford. However, with the manufacturer yet to confirm its participation in the WRC next season, that option is said to be an outside bet.
McRae finished out of the points in Spain last week, so he wants to make sure he gives his home fans something to cheer about in the season finale - and perhaps play his own part in the title fight between his team-mates Sebastien Loeb and Carlos Sainz, Subaru's Petter Solberg and Peugeot star Richard Burns.
"Obviously it's disappointing to finish so close to the points and come away with nothing, but dealing with that disappointment has become an integral part of this season," McRae told his website.
"I'm going to give it everything in my home rally, though, and hopefully give the fans something to cheer about.
"The surface is far more up my street and I want to finish this year on a high note for myself, my co-driver Derek Ringer and everyone who has supported me so much this season. For rally fans the spectacle of a four-way shoot-out for the title is going to be pretty impressive anyway, but I'm determined to stick my oar in!"
