Loeb plans to put pressure on Gronholm
Sebastien Loeb has vowed not to give up in pursuit of victory in the Rally Sweden, despite leader Marcus Gronholm pulling away from the Frenchman over the second leg
Gronholm pulled out 15 seconds during the second day of the event, which Loeb puts down to his poor choice of tyre studs on the first two loops of stages.
The Frenchman, however, was marginally quicker than Gronholm on the final two tests of the day, and he is planning to pile the pressure on the Ford Focus driver tomorrow in the hope of seeing him make a mistake.
"It is far from all over," Loeb said. "I'm going to be pushing my hardest from the start of tomorrow, in order to pile on the pressure.
"We have been pushing hard all day. When he feels at one with his car Marcus is a formidable adversary, and that seems to be the case here.
"On the whole, I reckon he was slightly quicker than us throughout the day. I made two mistakes with tyre choice.
"I did not have the long studs when I needed them in the first loop of stages, and then I put them on for the second loop of stages when just the standard studs would have been better."
