Gronholm Rules Out One-Two
Marcus Gronholm has admitted that it will be difficult for Peugeot to secure the one-two finish they need at this weekend's Wales Rally GB to help take back the advantage in the manufacturers' championship
The Finn, however, has vowed to push from the word go.
Peugeot is six points behind French rival Citroen in the table with five events to go, and admit that the team need to score one-two finishes on gravel rallies such as this weekend if they are to take the title.
"For Peugeot to finish one-two I think it will be difficult," Gronholm said. "We have not succeeded this year to be first and second, so how can we do it now, I'm not sure.
"We will have to fight for the win. We need it because on asphalt we are not competitive enough to win so we need to do it on gravel."
However, Gronholm is optimistic that this weekend could give him his second WRC victory of the season, after he won his home event of Finland last month.
"Yes, I feel optimistic," he added. "Why not. The weather seems to be normal here and everything is ok. The car feels good and we will see tomorrow. I will be flat out from the word go."
