Duke video archive: The final year of WRC’s Group B class
Rewind 40 years and dive into the mighty Group B era with today’s Duke video
This week's video from the Duke archives features Group B rallying from 1986, the final year of the legendary class which was as spectacular as it was dangerous. In this two-hour season review, famous rally manufacturers Audi, Ford, Lancia, Peugeot and more battle for what would be the final championship of the monster Group B era, following the tragic deaths of Lancia driver Henri Toivonen and co-driver Sergio Cresto during the Tour de Corse.
From the 4000km Safari Rally to the tight and twisty Rally Sanremo in Italy, the 1986 World Rally Championship was to be remembered as much for its incredible battles as for the dangers it posed to driving crews and spectators alike.
