Burns wants to maintain points lead
Richard Burns is aiming to keep his lead of the drivers' championship when the WRC tackles the fifth round of the series in Argentina this weekend
The Englishman has a six-point lead over team-mate Marcus Gronholm after one of Burns's best ever starts to a season and he's looking to score heavily once more on Argentina's gravel roads.
"Rally Argentina has always been a good event for me and my aim is to be in the top two throughout," said Burns on his website. "Obviously a win would be nice and I'll do my best to keep Marcus from winning another rally that's for sure. I have the lead in the World Rally Championship and I'm not about to give it up without a fight!"
Between rallies Burns has been putting the Peugeot 206WRC through its paces during a test in Greece, in preparation for the rough gravel events coming up in the summer.
"Following New Zealand I went to Greece for a test with the Peugeot team," he added. "I was there for a couple of days, concentrating mainly on tyre tests with our Michelins and a little work on dampers as well. Most of my tests last season were one day only so it's nice to be able to spend a little more time in the car, we get a lot more done that's for sure. While we were there we obviously took the time to work on set-up ahead of the Acropolis and Cyprus events, which follow Rally Argentina."
