Burns to debut new Peugeot
Reigning WRC champion Richard Burns faces a tough task in this weekend's Acropolis Rally, giving the latest evolution Peugeot 206 WRC it's first championship outing
The tricky conditions in Greece are not ideal for the baptism of a new machine, and Burns is looking forward to an interesting three days.
"The Acropolis is the ultimate test for the car - rough surface, big rocks," said the former Subaru star to wrc.com. "We're up against it a bit, but the roads are a little bit smoother from last year."
Peugeot are eager to bounce back from the disqualification of first and second place finishers Marcus Gronholm and Burns with victory in the Itea based event.
"There's not much difference in the new car," said Burns, "but it feels a little bit better in most areas. There's no point in thinking back about Argentina - that's history now."
Burns has yet to win a world championship rally for Peugeot since his big money move from Subaru, but has been increasingly close to 2000 champion Marcus Gronholm as the season has progressed.
