Burns out with suspension damage

Reigning WRC champion Richard Burns is our of the Acropolis Rally after the rear suspension of his Peugeot 206 broke during the opening stage of Leg Three

Burns was not the only major retirement of the stage as Alister McRae was also forced out after breaking a steering arm on his Mitsubishi Lancer.

The Inohori stage was won by Marcus Gronholm, who is now up to second. With overnight leader Colin McRae only fifth fastest through the opening stage, his lead has been 34.1s. The rally now looks to be a two-horse race as Carlos Sainz is over a minute behind in third.
